I think we should put a cheeky offer of about 8 million in for britt as he seems to only be warming the bench for Middlesbrough he knows where the net is, the only concern is his 40k a week wages.

I'd rather have Oliveira for probably half of the price.

Britt didn't want to play for us while he was here so why would he want to come back?
talent but lazy

No britt wanted to further his career and play with better players, just like we would all want a good job with better people getting paid more.
Britt over oliveira everyday

I'm sure I read somewhere Norwich wanted 8 million earlier on in the season. Britt wouldn't come back anyway.

Where's home?
Gone from club to club on loan tried to be one of the big boys, but simply not good enough for the prem.
Made his money we aren't in his wages league so not happening anyway.

Britt is sitting on a bench watching these "better" players play?
He he wanted to further his career you would have thought he would work hard enough to at least get a game.
great transfer deal for us but not so goid for Boro

In light of comments from the boss, I was wondering what your thoughts for the next transfer window are?

For me Pantillimon, Figueiredo, Colback and Tomlin should all be pushed for. I also expect us to sign Dawson which would give us a strong selection of centrebacks (Figueiredo, Dawson, Fox and Worrall) . I also think we need a real predatory striker, I'm hoping for Jordan Rhodes. Yes, he has had a poor season but he is mustard at this level. From within I'd be very hopeful that McKay kicks on as Lolley one side and McKay the other would be very attractive to watch.

I do wonder what long term role the boss has in mind for Osborn. Maybe left back but he isn't a natural, despite his work ethic. I also expect Mancienne to leave along with Hobbs, Vaughan and Cohen to move into a permanent coaching role. Can't imagine Smith is feeling the love either.

No no no not Jordan Rhoads.
Only scored 13 goals in last two seasons, can't hold the ball up to bring the midfield into play and is we'll past his sell by date, hopefully his daft wages will put us off.
Been no good since his Blackburn days.

I’d sell Worral . We need some cash to add some attacking flair. Cash in If we can.

I know everyone is loving Fox right now but he will get injured and miss months at some point and he is in his twilight years. Think AK will be looking at Worrall and Tobias as two long term centre backs, can see him moving Manchienne on if we get decent offer. Surely a Leftback is still priority and can see Osbourn being utility player, sometimes at Leftback, sometimes on left wing and sometimes central midfield.
Agree on making loans permanent if possible and a striker personall think Rhodes could’ve a big risk and would be expensive. I would prefer the big lad at Wednesday Nuhui or Lucas Joao or maybe someone like Connor Washington. If we didn’t get Tomlin then Forestieri might be worth a punt. I am sure AK has his eyes on some loans and bargains from premiership too maybe and in Spain.
Will be interesting to see where he sees Lichij, Dejagah, Fuentes, Smith, Vellios, Bouchalakis and Mckays futures and also some of lads he loaned out. I still think Clough, Lam and Yates may come back in next season. I expect Vaughan, Hobbs and Cohen to go and Grant too.

I don't want to see Jordan Rhodes at Forest, too much of a risk, there's no guarantee he'll score goals and I don't think he fits in to the team.

Is Lam still on our books? Can’t say I’ve seen much of him play but when I did he seemed lost.

Also think we need to keep Experinced good players like Fox. Remember we haven’t yet proved we’re anything more than a mid table championship team and he still offers us a lot.

Jordan Rhodes is yesterday's man. No pace, not a target man and does not close down defenders.

Not scoring these days as the game has moved on and he can be kept out the danger zone.

Sooner keep Murphy up top than carry Jordan

We need a maverick striker - ok, Stan the Man and Van Hoidonk didn't last long, but they got us back into the Premiership.

If they can keep it going, very much so. I would add Pants alongside Fig and Foxy though because he as been excellent and is like the captain also. I am delighted for Fox that he as come good though because some of the crazy abuse he as recieved on here was pathetic and his critics have crawled back into the woodwork because of his performances. Well done boys. U REDS.

I am also pleased for Fox Retford. Worrall gets stick and also Osborn. They are good young players still learning. Fox hasn't got the legs for fullback now but still got it between the ears to read it at CB.

I've never been a fan of Fox and I will reserve my judgement until next season after he's signed that contract, I wonder if he'll still play with such intensity. My bet is no.

Does that mean AK is a better manager than all the other managers Fox has played for, for knowing who to bring in, and getting them in.

21 Mar 2018 09:00:42
No it just means that it's not always the best players on paper that make the best teams.
A few weeks ago not many on here would have wanted a back four of darikwa tobias fox and Osborn.
Because of injuries and illness it was forced on karanka to play them and they've done a good job so far and you don't change a formula that's working.
Fox will face suspension soon and it will be interesting to see if we're solid still with that change.
Personally I think we will be as with Watson and colback they get plenty of cover.
The only downside to playing two holding midfielders is it cuts down the creative options.

Having those 2 in front has definitely helped our goals against, including the new keeper you don't rate 79(personally I think the keeper has done very well). But he has also performed well in that position under previous managers.

Isaac Hutchingson, and Alan Fleming have been having trials with us, would they only be with the u23's or possibly to see if they might be good for next season, bringing them gradually into the first team.

I know where you’re coming from Robbo, it’s great to see young players come through. My own view is that you can’t have more than three in the squad at any time .
What will we do with Worrall, Walker, Cash, Grant Yates smith, Brereton, locovitti and Ariyibi next season. I think we have to be more realistic about the academy and the quantity of stars it will produce

Kenny Burns has said if Fox and Tobias keep performing as they are they could be fighting it out for player of the yesr.

Would that be deserved.?

Right now I think player of the year can only be between.
Cash, Osbourn, Fox, Tobias, Smith, Dowell and Pantillimon

But Osbourn only due to the fact he has played most games and has in fact (once again and despite the boo boys) been probably the most consistent player and moved positions a lot, Dowell just for his form early in season under Warburton and most the others since AK took over and stepping up to stop the slide! Would be mad in some ways if a player signed on last day of Jan wins it but not many others would!

He`s been amazing this season. Its a shame he was sent off against Burton, but its worked out with him losing his starting place, as he will be less of a miss on the international break, in respect that he can have time to recover.
Hope he does well and gets his world cup call up.

It's kind of a double blow for him as he helped them to qualify for Brazil then was injured for the finals.

Worrall and Mancienne getting injured and falling ill in the week building up to the Burton game forced Karanka's hand and may have saved our season.
Since then we've kept 4 clean sheets in the last 7 games with Figueiredo and Fox at centre half so it was a blessing in disguise.

Yes Watson and Colback have provided a more solid wall in front of the back four but would we have kept those 4 clean sheets with Mancienne and Worrall playing? I very much doubt it and remember Colback played in front of them against Fulham and Hull when we conceded 2 in both games.

Got to agree Fred it shouldn't work on paper but it is.
That's football for you Fred we can all day play Eric he's far better than darikwa? Play anyone except fox as he's crapp?
But sometimes it works as they have an understanding that the so called better players don't.
Can't knock the defensive side of the team.

Agree2 0Disagree

18 Mar 2018 05:12:13
Would AK have dropped worrall and mancienne anyway? Worrying if its just luck that forced his hand. Mancienne for me, and i said it many times is poor. I hops worrall watches and learns. He will have future with us for sure. Lkke most on here was delighted that fox has been drafted into the middle. Pants has been a revelation in goal for many reasons but his organisational qualities shine through.
To go to bramall lane, a tough rough team fighting for promotion and keep a clean sheet is commendable and to come out on top second half is evidence of ambition. Well done lads.

18 Mar 2018 10:39:59
AK knew Manc was no captain and brought in Watson to do the job, the injury was a bit of luck for him. Manc's a possible transfer in the summer, a pity because there is a good footballer in there somewhere.

18 Mar 2018 14:05:27
I have to say the last few games I watched Worrall play were painful, just mistake after mistake and treating the ball like an unexploded bomb that might explode any second. No doubt he’ll come good but he had started costing us points

Agree2 0Disagree

18 Mar 2018 20:20:31
I reckon that getting rid of the ball like an unexploded bomb thing is a hangover from Warburton's ridiculous demand that we ALWAYS played out from the back. How many goals did that gift? Remember Hobbs and Jordan v Sheff Weds? That was a turning point for me. It made two pro's look stupid and gave the opposition ANOTHER goal head-start. We don't see that rubbish any more now we have a defender who has played at the highest level in charge. Hmmm.
