A Forest site saying Abdoun wants another chance to prove himself ,reading between the lines looks like Dougie will give him the once over during preseason build up,any thoughts?

don't want to be controversial, but having watched him play he never gave the ball away, was tidy in possession and I liked what he tried to do. we need players. BUT attitude stinks apparently and we don't want that in the club

I say if he comes back with a completely different attitude, and ONLY if he does that, then he could be an asset for us next season. Might be like having a new player. But I am sure Freedman will make a judgment on him in pre-season and that judgment will be the right one.

I used to like Abdoun, he was tricky and exciting but he was so damn selfish and instead of passing tried to take on the entire team on his own. IF he becomes a team player and IF he starts to work on his attitude i'd be happy to have him back.

Leopards never change their spots.
Always a bad apple

Get rid of him. Apart from on cheeky penalty in the FA Cup he's not done much has he?

The weather is better in Greece, the economy is shot to pieces but one can buy a decent Taramosalata.

If no-one else wants him, we will be paying his wages. So either he has to be assessed as a footballer or a VERY expensive water boy!

If we can get shot, at zero further cost, we should.

Selfish? Yes, there have been times when Abdoun has tried to go it alone but who in the team hasn't?
Unless my memory is playing tricks, I recall him providing a number of assists, the ones that spring to mind are both goals in the boxing day 2013 home win over QPR and the 5-0 cup win over WHAM where he was in a position to have a go at goal but passed to Reid instead.

If Abdoun can get his head screwed back on then I'd defo be up for giving him another go. The bearded magician is class.

Give him one last chance, because I can see Reid and Cohen being released, along with Laing and McLaughlin.

Questioning selfish and the mentioning the west ham game is ludicrous.that is the same game abdoun made himself an outcast by holding onto the ball like a spoilt kid for the penalty!
I'm not against him coming back but he has to start being a team player and play for the team rather than himself.

Billy Davies had a problem with him and Rafik. Don't think he was on good terms with Reid/Lansbury either.

Reading between the lines maybe the departure of Antonio
is on the cards.

uptheforest - Ludicrous? Opinions will differ but I look at it as having big cahoonas rather than being a spoilt kid. Prior to that match, we'd been awarded 4 penalties and missed 3 of them (Reid, Henderson & Cox). Abdoun stuck it in the back of the net.

He did miss a penalty the same season though, Burnley away. We were 3-0 down, keeper saved Abdoun's penalty but he headed in the rebound, it finished 3-1. Seemed like he was the only one trying that day.

I would have played him last season, costing us 35k a week at least give him the opportunity to show if he can cut the mustard.

Since he signed we have had a fair turnover of talent and so there are fewer players he needs to mend bridges with going forward. He clearly has the talent but has not been helped by the BD fall out.

If he knuckles down playing with Antoinio just behind a front man or in a 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 would be awesome provided we have a solid DM and sort our full backs out.

Me personally, we're paying him so put him to work. I noticed the Trent End needs a lick of paint!!
Or the shop needs restocking!!!!
Wouldn't let him wear the shirt again.

Always liked him, can be a bit greedy but also sent some quality balls into the box . Look back at some of the highlights of him. Hopefully he can sort himself out could be a very good player for us.

Just the sort of situation B C would have relished,no doubt he would have sorted him out ,got him performing or else he would have been locked out of the ground!

Both he and Gomis were brought against BD's wishes. Waste of space and time. If we are stuck with him he can replace the divets at half time. I'd not want him in a forest shirt again. Him and the suggested Barton together would be a nightmare in the changing room and on the pitch.

If he's learnt his lesson then give him a go, especially seeing as we can't go out buying players at the moment

I'm going to add more controversy to the debate. He's our BEST player. Lazy, yes ! Spoilt kid, yes! but he has bundles of talent.

Need to figure out how to get the best out of him.

Has a lot to prove.
