Well I hate to say it as I think the way he has conducted himself in the past has been nothing short of shocking but he might just be what we require in midfield! We need some grit in that department and when his minds on the game he is a decent player. Can't see him coming though as we can only offer 10k a week. I mean who would play 1 maybe 2 games a week for that measly some of money!!!!!

Also, have to agree with Dougie's opinion on certain individuals. They have to stand up and be counted at times like this and they're not. We currently have a guy who kicked off when he wanted to move up North but eventually ended up going for free following a fall out. He then comes back costing the club quite a large sum of money due to his own personnel needs and has delivered very little in my opinion! Anyone think we have been mugged???

Don't like him as a person pesonally, but like Ward he will give us a bit of nastiness and won't worry about having a go at his team mates if they're not giving 100% - He would give Lansbury to a run for his money for the most bookings (if he stays).

As soon as I heard qpr were releasing barton I've been saying he's just the type of player we need, he's a leader on the pitch and wants to win, he'll definitely have his mad moments but he's a quality player when he wants to be

2 Premier League clubs and 2 Ligue 1 have contacted Barton to discuss terms so is very very unlikely he will go to a Championship club

We really need to get real and understand the financial position we're in.We have absolutely no chance of signing a player like Barton.He's going to end up at a prem club or will go abroad.Even if he dropped to the championship he'd go to someone like Middlesbrough,we can't even compete with the likes of Bristol City,that's why it's imperative we hang on to the likes of Antonio and Lansbury(Although I think Lansbury is on his way out of the club).We now shop at Poundland not Harrods.

I agree with most of what you say pass the ball but you wouldn't find HL or MA on the shelf at poundland. They would be gone straight away. We still need to prove we can financially operate within the guidelines and selling one or both of them might be the only option??

It's highly unlikely to happen but Barton would be a great signing. And his discipline record these days is no where near as bad as some posts suggest. He has worked hard on that and on improving himself as a person over recent years and that should be commended.
Forest would benefit hugely from his consistency, drive and commitment to the cause. Oh, and he is very skilful too!

Would be final nail in coffin for me with forest, will go and watch county!

Don't mind Lansbury going for £4m would be good Sensible business for once, good player when on form but tries to take on to much even when he playing badly, if we don't sell he will go for free when contract up.

Would like to keep Antonio at least till Jan transfer window then cash in if prem team comes in for him (6-7m) and we are fairly safe with returning players, don't sell to championship club though, I would also play him up top with walker till we get this new striker settled in.
