I'm not joining in the clamour for yet another manager, nor am I a happy clapper. We have some very varied results and the shape and personnel of the team are quite varied at times. There has been some consistency, and flashes of real quality passing, attacking and defending.

I'm not for the doom and gloom merchants. Too many people are quick to write the club off. People moaned because we were trying to get Trotter yet only having played one match all season, he comes into the team, defends, attacks and passes well, then scores a goal.

Positive, we control most of the match against a team who were top six last year, and we have been narrowly beaten by other teams who have either come down from the Premier League or look close to promotion. I'm not forgetting the poor play against Bristol, but I feel the Team, the Club and the Management/Owner need our support and some belief that they are doing their best.

Once the crowd got behind them today the team got more confident and they are our 12th man. We can improve more but I still think we have the ability, talent and drive to do better this season.

I agree entirely with the above. This team needs to survive and will do and come good if everyone supports Fawaz Dougie and the team. Who knows Britt could be back sooner rather than later.

I have to agree with bsered and I for one think we will I prove once we have sorted out our best team. Question is does it include the captain.

Good post, and I have to agree with bsered. I think most fans on here realised that under DF and our current restraints a realistic finish for the team this season will be mid table. Anything higher is just a bonus. So that does mean we aren't go to win every match this season, and inconsistent performances are to be expected. If we sack the manager now, it means the new one comes in, and then has to build his team, and all in all it pushes progress backwards with each new manager.

We aren't mid table though are we? And we are heading down rather than up.

As for the Captaincy, I've said before Hl is not our man.nor should he take set pieces - Benny can do that much better. I even said that Wilson would be Capt. yesterday. Leader on the pitch is a big problem and I have to admit I don't know the personalities that well, but ideally they should be either in midfield or defence. Hobbs did little when given the chance of Capt. and Wilson is steady as she goes; Mills could/can do it. Difficult to make a loanee capt., so we are left with Vaughan or Ward. I'd be scratching my head about this, anyone got a selection with positive reasons?

With Mills back next week, personally he would be my choice as Capt.

Performance wise was ok yesterday though have to admit Ipswich in that first half were as bad as any team I have seen this season.

Sheff Wed will be difficult but we have a good record at Hillsborough.
