If i'm reading it correctly to bring in a new striker in we neeed to free up a small ammount of wagee. The only way to do this would be to either terminate a fringe players conttract or to loan them out for a percentage of their wage
So out of Wilson, Blackstock or Fox who is it goiing to be.

Terminating a contract won't free up any wages as this would be in the budget for this year, loaning will free up wages depending on how much the other team contribute.

I don't think it's a cumulative thing though. It has to be directly one players wages for another. For example we have two spaces available, if Rotherham contribute 5k towards burkes wages and the Dutch side 5k toward ebecillio we can't then get one player in for 10k. It's still only 5k we would be allowed to pay someone.

Losing C Burke for a measly 5k doesn't seem like good business to me but if he's not playing then so be it.

This episode has been quite revealing in regards to transfer payments, wages, loan fees and so on. Just goes to show that not all footballers are on 20 k a week and the differences between wages and skill levels are huge if not purely made up in agents heads.

Yes the market, skill level, past events determine the value but it is obvious that we have spent really badly in the past and gone for ego or promise over substance.

One thing I do get from yesterday is that not everyone's all that disappointed? Understandable as we knew we wouldn't sign a lot but quite heartening to see that we finally understand our position and are maybe getting used to the fact that we can't go and buy the league.

I think we all got a bit loud, almost egotistical, over the fact we could spend a shed load of money and win the league. That was the expectation when Fawaz came in and showed off the sports cars and palaces. Now reality has set in it's almost cool to accept that people are trying to work hard and earn their money rather than have a squad of 35 part timers and hair combers.

What I like most is that DF hasn't come out and moaned and groaned that nothing happened. Feel really sorry for him and the team because they put all that work in for no return, but here's something amazing. You won't hear a word of it from DF and he'll be back tomorrow bright as a button saying positive things and talking common sense.

Now that's a real manager! Maybe not a world beating football manager but a manager who understands people, the concepts of motivation and other peoples perspective.

The down side is that we lose a hard worker like C Burke to free wages and end up weakening the side DF is trying to build. Frustrating but galvanizing. :)

If I could afford it I'd pay 5k a week for Blackstock not to play. he as been poor over the last couple of seasons and was dreadful on Sat against Watford. Players out should be Blackstock, Fryatt, Wilson and Fox.

No22

I agree with a lot of your post, although in his next interview with the post i will guess the manager wil mention the embargo and and not being able to spend at least 7 times. I have noticed practically every interview he does he will repeat a theme several times.

That does not mean i'm against him however.

Great post.

Hopefully everyone associated with the club has now taken on board the reality check?

The wagons should now be drawn around the City Ground with the club and fans inside providing the seige mentality to overcome our short term difficulties.

This would be a refreshing change compared with the last manager holing himself up against the world in the Wilford Lane phone box!

Fawaz is the one who needs the reality check.

The big danger is that he starts next season throwing money around. Sacks DF after 5 games because were not top of the league with players he brought in against DF's judgement.

Square one.

Good post but you should not need to say anything some of the fans will know anyway The ffp as helped us in a big way it as made us get hour house in order I think this as helped fawas aswell save money and shord him that he can run it in a better way I know that some of you think we need this player and that player but we don't we have got a very good team a striker would be handy till bitt is back but I could live without still fancy top 6 but if we don't it ok I would like hour fans to not slag hour club all the time and it seems to be the same people all the time if you hear anything bad about the club keep it to yourselves and try to say good thing about the club at the moment I am very happy with the club it is the best it's bin for a long time we are looking so good for next year if we don't do anything this year a lot of the the team who ar spending and don't go up will be in trouble if you look at the bigger picture the picture looks good. we should ban negative vibes.

The truth should always be spoken, no matter how hard it is to take.

Whispers and curtain twitching only start after the man at the top gives cause for such things to take place.
If you can't run a transparent organisation you will have problems all the way through it and you can't blame the minions for being scared or chattering because of it.

Man up and run the club like a pro or suffer the consequences.

The man at the top takes the blame not the people under him who are affected by his poor judgment.

Totally agree No22. If the leader is in dissarray don't expect the rest to have a clue. Let alone work to an ethos that should run through any business.

My guess is that Fawaz and a few confidants keep it all very close as they are struggling with finances due to wild business decisions

The shop front is the team we all see. Behind it are late deliveries, unpaid bills, cleaners on salaries, no one checking deliveries, a few unpaid utility bills and some rotten food. Worse still every time Fawaz turns up he has a go at the guy on the till and then sacks him.

Thanks for saving us but did you.?
