Can't say I'm expecting nottingham forest to get anything saturday after seeing Huddersfield breeze past Norwich tonight they are a very good team.

Anyone can beat anyone in this league and that's been proven. some people are so defeastist. let's just hope the players don't have the same mindset as you.

From what i have seen over the last couple of games i believe that a point is more than in our grasp, imo Brereton and Clough need to play 90 minutes through the middle of the park, they need to be the 2 up top!

No uptheforest I'm realistic so how many are we going to win by then.

Just remember before last night Huddersfield got hammered by Bristol city and lost to Burton so there by no means invincible.

UTF - I reckon if anyone played anyone it would be a draw :)

If anyone played anyone I'd go for a anyone win to be fair, glass half full and all that.
I never said we would win, you started the thread off saying you can't see forest getting anything. a draw is something and achievable.

All we need for a win is the luck we had against Brighton and Newcastle. If we don't score twice in the first half we will undoubtedly struggle.

I remember not that long ago draws weren't good enough for some people under certain managers!

Huddersfield play football and we gave a good account in the away game. Forest to win if we take our chances and Warbo has coached Osborn to look up and play the strikers in between the defenders instead of playing pretty football between the touchlines!

You are so funny, if we draw against teams like Preston and Derby we are doing well.

In my opinion if you play not to lose but draw that is dreadful.

If you play to win, but draw that is acceptable, especially against teams much higher the table than yourself.

Warburton has managed just three games, hardly much time to change everything.

Tomorrow I'm not having a dig at Warburton. I'm happy to let him crack on. You will have to explain more how you play not to lose etc. I thought all teams go into games wanting to win but it's a case of the managers working out the best way for his players to do it.

6 games left - time to be realistic and not a daydream opitmist.
The only game we should win without doubt is Blackburn. If we draw the other 5 we should / might be okay - if we grab a win in one of those, then happy days. And to address a point above - do the rest of La Liga go to Real Madrid and Barcelona 'to win'?! Play to your strengths / with what you have. What is important is trying to get at least a point from each game.

You know very well there is a massive difference between wanting to win and playing to win.

Playing not to lose is where the manager sets the team up to be defensive, relying onthe opposition to make a mistake then hoping his players can takke advantage of it.

Playing to win is where the manager sets up the back line to be organised and strog defensively, then sets up his his midfield and forward line to be balanced, but at the same time adventurous in order to force the opposition to make a mistake.

Let me put it this way, do you think the crazy gang went against Liverpool in the FA cup years ago with a try not to lose, but hope to win attitude.

Not in the slightest in my opinion.

They went into the game with a let's run at them, rough them up and the Northern softies will buckle attitude.

And then move to Milton Keynes!?

Well Tomorrow I'm afraid you've lost me on that one.
I wish we had played not to lose in many of our games this season especially away days. Maybe if we had ground out a few more draws and the odd ugly win we wouldn't be in this position.

I was not aware MK was in the North, so that is another topic altogether.

Didn't say it was - but that one victory was in the FA cup and did little to stave off financial instability that ultimately lead to them moving to try to secure their future. So in a cup scenario that attitude is fine as they had nothing else left to play for - we are not in that kind of position yet - if we needed 9 points with 3 or 4 games to go then I'd agree with you but right now we need to lose less than 3 other teams (2 technically as Rotherham are already doomed), not mindlessly attack every game like it's our last ever.

You will all have faces as red as tomato and beetroot when we turn over Huddersfield next game!

Press high and stop Moy from playmaking and spreading the ball wide. They are not quick at the back and we need to be on the front foot for 90 mins and not give the ball away. Keep Mills and Traore away from the ground and we will be OK!

I do not understand: mindlessly attack every game like it is our last ever.

My original point was to play to win is the way to go, that means approaching the game with a positive attitude and try to force the opposition to make mistakes.

It does not have to be the beautiful game, although that is more entertaining, nor does it mean approaching the game with wild abandonment.
