Britt will most likey keep getting niggling injuries this season, Velios is nothing more than a sub in Warburton's eyes going off the last 9 games, and Brereton can not be expected to shoulder the burden the rest of the time.

Playing in Scotland in there second division against players that in England would be part timers hardly gets me on the edge of my seat. it will be like buying a foreign player, he will need a year to get up to speed with the game. he might prove me wrong but I personally thing he will get gobbled up by the championship defences up top on his own.

So you are wanting us to bring in players that will hit the ground running, and for us to challenge for the play offs this season.

That would be great, but a bit unrealistic.

The lad is 21 i think, he will be looking to improve, which league is there more scope to do that.

We have to gamble on players like him instead of the journeymen, and players that are high earners, but have little interest in putting in a shift, and working part of a team.

Here is thought, until the 90's the spine of every great English team contained an outstanding Scott or two.
Evolution surely hasn't kicked in and removed that % of talented footballers in the Scottish population. Chances are they are just not getting the coaching and the opportunities they were once getting. Scouting the scotttish market could be a master stroke as the talent is surely still there to be nurtured. I'd sooner tread this path than what we did last because let's face it we had a starting 11 of misfits and has beens.

Warbs brought waghorn garner ( now going to ipswich) to rangers but i would take cummings over both of them mclean hayes (aberdeen) mckay bates beerman (rangers) tierney (celtic) etc gÃ²od players who would do wel just need look at 15 yr old billy gilmour chelsea signed from rangers. hamilton motherwell hibernian falkirk dundee utd some good talented ypungsters there who get a chance to play were at rangers celtic only a hand full do warbs should be looking at these young lads from these clubs and as you say nurture them at nffc as englush football tactics etc far superior to scottish.

That is some statement, what are his strengths, and weakness.

{Ed007's Note - Not really when you look back at all the English dross you've had playing up there. ;) Btw the only other one since Pierre I can remember is Earnshaw and I'm sure he's Welsh so we'll let him off.
Seriously though signing Cummings is a gamble but if it pays off you'll have a good player on your hands, he's quick and he definitely knows where the goal is and is deadly in and around the box and even though it's a big step up for him from the Scottish 2nd tier to the Championship it won't faze him. He's got a bit of an attitude and fancies himself as a bit of a superstar in the making. JC's far from the finished article but there is the raw talent and potential there.
As you can see from the start of my answer I'm no expert on your players or squad but if JC gets enough game time I reckon he'll score goals for you if you can supply the chances. I thought he would stay with HIbs for another year but I was hoping Celtic were looking at him to be our 3rd choice striker behind Dembele and Griffiths -
that was never going to happen once Championship teams started sniffing about. There's been plenty of English Championship scouts up watching him this season so it's not as if MW has just pulled a pig in a poke from nowhere, he would have other options if it wasn't Forest, weren't Leeds talking to Hibs and Ipswich seem to have opted to sign Joe Garner over Cummings.}
