As Eric fell out of favour or is he on his way out?

I think as Eric was away with the American team for much of the pre season MW is giving him a break from playing, and getting him use to his team mates before playing him.

Rested I'd imagine. Played a tournament over summer. That said - he is possibly out of favour a little.

He'll get a chance soon enough.

Being one of the best players means nothing if the manager does not think highly of you, look at Vellious, scores 5 pre season goals and can not start a game, or even on the bench against Barnsley.

He has a year left on his contract so there is no rush as he will want to stay in Nottingham in any event. My bet is if we do not renew his contract for next season and he is then surplus he will be joining Nigel at Burton!
