Those that condemned the manager to the toaster and are now bemoaning the prospect of Karanka arriving should be aware that the guy has a better track record than any of those that have been before including Billy No Brains.
He also represents good value for money as he could also fill in at centre or left back and still probably do a better job than some our so called defenders?

Aitor Karanka would be a sensible appointment. Had Middlesbrough playing some decent stuff. Found out in Premier League but don't think players were good enough.

Could be a decent fit

Good manager I believe.

Boro were short sighted getting rid of him, they should have stuck with him regardless of relegation as Burnley did with Dyche and look at the rewards they now have.

Take a relegation if need be, use the extra money to build the squad for a promotion push and build foundations to stay in Prem (Burnley did this excellently)

It’s almost a poison chalice getting promoted to the premier for a manager

The more you read about him the more you realise what a sound football man he is. Steve Gibson clearly did his homework before appointing him, just a pity they did not sign any strikers when they went up and relied on our old cast off Bamford?

They reckon Aitor left to save boro, they struggled to score in the prem which led to them being in the bottom 3 but had the 5th best defence in the league.thats some going in that league.

The likes of Negredo, Bamford and Gudstede are not going to get you many goals at Prem level.

Don't see either Bamford or Gudstede as being better than Championship. Negredo looks capable but lazy!

‘Keano in crowd today…’

‘Please come home.’

‘Would love him back. ’

‘Hero. Legend.’

All quotes from Sunderland fans from October 2017!

I'd have him ahead of Warburton or Karanka.
