James Collins been looked at on loan from West Ham. 34 years old and contract up in summer. Seems surplus ti them and told he can leave on loan.
Id take him in a flash but fear he attract better interest then us.

He would probably want a similar contract to Murphy, ie money and length. Do you think he is worth that?

How old is john terry??? Its a bit different age wise with central defenders. collins would be perfect.

The length of contract Murphy had was nothing to do with a 'bad' deal for Forest, it was about FFP and spreading the cost of his signing over three seasons to keep inside FFP.

Ok if you are right i will accept that, but if we give him a three year contract that takes him to 37 years old, and that is not taking into account wsges.

Please name 12 quality central defenders in the Premiership, and Championship that are 37 years old.?

Chugsy

You are probably right about ffr, but my point was, is Collins in the posters view worth a 3 year deal for the money he would want.

What do you think, is Collins.?

Jokic has six months left on his contract in Russia.

31 years old.

I'd go fetch him on my back!

Greyandred. Don't get you. We have zero quality centre backs at our club. We need experience and that comes at an age. Why name 12 what does that mean. I can name you one who is now 37 john Terry, who did not break sweat against us. We need a couple of defenders for the next season or two.
Hobbs we do not know the truth, worral is getting better but mancienne has never improved.
So collins is a great shout, for me anyway.

I would have thought Crystal Palace might want Collins as they have lost Scott Dann to injury?

You can have experienced central defenders without being that age.

You said age is not such a big factor for central defenders, in which you name John Terry as an example.

If age is not that big a factor there would be plenty of quality central defenders in their mid to late 30's at the highest level, like i said a 3 year contract means he would be 37.

If you can only name Terry that means he is a rarity, not the norm as you were suggesting.

I do not think he is good enough for that Length of contract, and the money he would expect.

So we just have to agree to disagree

Understand your point on Collins three year contact, maybe we should concentrate on players no older than 31

Good shout, Collins would be great to bring in and would help the likes of Worrall develop.

If we get offered what has been rumoured do you think he will be around to learn from an experienced player?

Who said anything about a 3 yr contract? We were duped over murphy, collins would probably expect a one year rolling or 2 at best.

It might be redundant saying it in chugsy’s defence now, but he’s right about spreading the cost of the transfer over several years.

There was an article recently which explained Wolves have done something slightly similar with some of their players.

Tomorrow, ahem, I mean Greyandredman as your are now:)

It's all just rumours as you say, both for players leaving and joining. So, yes I do think Collins would be a good signing and I do think Worrall could learn from him.
