Why pay Nearly 5m for a goalkeeper that we don't need when we could get 2 decent players for that price I recken smith is good enough just need a good defenders in front of him.

The unfortunate truth is Smith just simply isn't good enough. Not yet anyway. He was thrust into the squad and that is evident by his lack of confidence. Whether it be receiving the ball on the ground or coming for a corner, he's just not up to scratch. I do like to believe he'll improve. But for now we need a decent established experienced keeper.

On that basis Cloughie would never have signed Shilton and we would never have got 2 gold stars!
As for Carayol and Traore they are a pair of show ponies that need putting out to grass.

I disagree yeah he might not be experienced but you got to start somewhere he got a lot of games this season should be ready next season
