I look at all your posts guys and enjoy the banter .
But can you tell me why you mostly seem confident we have the right manager in Karanka?
And what is so special about him that it's a forgone conclusion that he will succeed?

Most managers get a response when they take over a toiling club ff79. AK has not and so its bring in the new faces. No gaurantees their either. He was no messiah in my eyes as other than a mixed time at boro i knew little of him and i preferred Gary Monk which i got slaughtered for. Personally i think he will struggle to turn this around. Too much upheaval so soon and getting cohesion so deep into the season with so many new faces is a big ask. He is under immense pressure and for any desperation not to be transmitted onto the pitch is a big ask. As much as the defence needs attention he needs to find goals, that commodity so prescious.

the real truth with a lot of people on here, you have no patience at all and want to blame the manager all the time. I suppose you are already wanting him out. And that has really worked well for us, I don't think so. Sorry folks but you have for the 100th time of telling you are going to have to give this guy more than a few games.

Suttonpete that was not the question from the OP. Having a dig at people on here is not engagaging in the banter. I doubt anyone wants yet another change. Ff79 was merely asking a very pertinent qustion. Already AK has made similary decisions that baffle the fans who turn up week in week out. They turn up to get behind the team but are dismayed at what they see. Us on here and the red army just want to see some forward progression. Simples.

of course that is always the target, banter or not AK is still finding his feet and will make mistakes along the way, and yes its not good at the moment, and has not been for years, except for the odd flurry with the play offs a few years ago.Its just frustrating already to be having a go at the manager.

Fair enough sutton but based on what you have witnessed thus far do you think Karanka has it to change the fortunes of this utter mess?? Bear jn mind he walked at middlesborough throwing his toys with a good team of players. I would say that his job is now one of the most daunting in our league no doubt.

with out doubt rutland, karanka has a difficult job. However he is now having to pick up the pieces of what as gone before, and will of course be judged on results. But it has to be a longer term project to turn things around i'm afraid. The one thing I would add is that a strong, vocal and dominant defender is what we are obviously missing along with a proven goal scorer.

A new manager would normally get time to bring in his own players and let them settle in, However AK has seen what is like a cancer in our dressing room and operated with swift actions trying to get some response from those who are left. Having watched both Preston and Hull games We are is desperate need of a leader on the field. Fox is not a good left back and Mancienne is no captain Osbourne is being asked to do so many jobs he has lost the plot, There were so many people crying for Vellios to play yet when he does he falls over and is no better than Ben Brereton Dowell has gone off the boil since MW was sacked We need a good strong midfield who can win the ball and provide some service to our lone Ranger up front although I would prefer two up front.
I am sure AK will get this sorted given time.

Thing is every manager has had to pick up the pieces from the previous manager.
It's how well you deal with doing that.
Like Rutland says you normally get a good response when a new manager comes in as they all get a chance again ie: vellios.
But this hasn't happened for some reason.

Lets be honest and realistic. Our current form and situation is that of a relegation destined team. It could happen but probably won't if AK can install a captain/leader ( watson ) and gets the troops battle hardened and unified. Its time now to play the experience he has drafted in, reconnect with the fans and givd it everything from now on.it is going to take a gargantuan effort but no more pussyfooting around with the wimps.

I'm in agreement with FF and Rutland.
Krankie has a mountain and a lot of issues to address.
To play a failing squad twice in succession seems a strange tactic.
Yes the slate has been wiped clean but still bizarre?
Picking up the pieces. Yes he is doing just that but so do other managers when a new one is appointed.

A tradesman never blames his tools for poor workmanship and granted Krankie does have some tools in his squad.
I know if I was a professional footballer regardless of who I played for I would give my best each game for the fans and for my team.

The squad at forest should try working for a living in the real world then they maybe they would be humbled into playing their hearts out!
They need a rocket up their rears.

As far as I'm concerned the owners have panicked all ways up,on paper we might look a better squad?
But the reality is,it's a broken squad.
You need unity and team spirit to succeed, that's all gone.
You can't bring players in like tomlin who has no excuse for being so overweight,it sends out the wrong message.
We all know it's obscene what players earn but that's football and you have to accept it.
Some players won't react to a rollicking they need an arm round them and some do react to a rollicking it's knowing which ones to do that too.
Posters on here are saying give Karanka time.
Karanka didn't give the players time.
Imo it will cost us

FF79, it’s a fatalistic view but I understand where you are going with it. If there is no spirit we are done. Megson alineated the players and they hated him and each other. I get your point. Davies came with us in the bottom three and galvanised the team and brought in some smart loans and we survived . Time will tell us very soon if what we think the present moment is telling us about AK is correct?

Exactly 2 star.
All I'm saying is after watching the games so far and more importantly the tactics and lack of team spirit.
I can't get any sort of good feeling factor and don't share the view that Karanka will sort it out.
Yes it's negative thinking from me,buts that's my view on him.
The next two games we cannot lose, doesn't matter if we don't win,we just cannot lose.

Lets just stop and look who AK has shipped out

Walker - League 1 striker at best

Clough - Cannot play him with Dowell but will be OK next year

Cummings- We cannot wait for him to take 18 months to adapt to Championship football

Ward - Sicknote for hamstrings

Traore - ditto

Carayol - Has never held down a first team slot wherever he has played and cannot stay match fit

Mills - I rest my case!

The biggest threat to team spirit and confidence is having players that cannot stay fit and put a run of games together for a settled pattern or having players in your team who the rest know are not up to Championship quality.

You surely cannot be serious in claiming these players were not given a chance? Karanka knows this league and will have done his homework beforehand.

We need a minimum of 15 points from 15 games so 2 or 3 wins over the next half a dozen games will set us up nicely!

I agree on mills Carayol and ward.
Disagree on Cummings and walker.
In Cummings and walker we had two strikers who could have given us an option to play 442 and play off the big man in Murphy or vellios and even clough can play that role.
That option has now gone and was a mistake to let all three go,
One or two injuries up front and we have nothing at all.
