Hi everyone long time reader 1st time poster, am interested that a lot of people on here seem to be against the possible signing of Dawson maybe they've not noticed we can't defend high balls, the fact he's an ex player is surely irrelevant if he can do the job.

Agree he would add some height to defend set peices but having watched him a few times this season for Hull, my reservation is that he is a little slow nowadays and he struggles to defend against quick attacking players.

If he comes on a free and wages are low he would be a good purchase. AK can motivate him much better than Adkins, and we have Figgy and Worrall with pace.

Karanka wants experienced players that are vocal that play with commitment and skill, whether Dawson can do the job or not we can not be sure but there must be younger players than him that fill the required wants of the manager that we can get, even if they are only 2 or 3 years younger.

Cahill in the England Squad at age 34.

Bsered, as may be but would another manager play him, or play a 31, or 32 year old.

Or they could play John stones in stead of him way younger.byt then again he’s worse than Cahill so sort of goes against what your saying.

Sutton_red85, so you believe there is no player that is younger, even slightly younger than Cahill that is either equal in talent or more talented than him.

The choice is England is limited because we have so few good centre backs. Maybe Lascelles will improve, and I always thought Jagielka was better than Cahill anyway. I'm not saying I agree with Cahill's selection, but he's pretty dependable in what he can do.

Stevie f welcome sorry no one else said so,enjoy and don't be intimidated, day what you think.
Dawson? It's tough one are we remembering how he was? A great young talent?
Certainly proved himself and got the experience, but des cane back and was a shadow of his former self.
There lies the dilema
Me personally would leave it and move on.

Ff799 thanks for the welcome mate, not expecting the Dawson of old but he can still head kick, and lead people raving about Fig, but i believe he's got plenty to prove anyone who saw Bamford of all people work him over at boro must realise that.
