Rowett wants osborn at stoke with him. let's cash in on him as we will never be a top 6 team with him in it.

I agree - utility player who doesn’t excel in any role in particular.

Doubt anyone can tell me his best position, after all these years.

Left midfield just behind the striker.

We know his best position. Let's not forget that he is versatile enough to fill in at other positions. Karanka has stated that these are the type of players he wants in his squad. Rowett would have to make a substantial offer.Let's hope we dig our heels in and dictate proceedings!!!

Sgetty he may of said he wants versatile players but am sure he would want better quality versatile players.
LR i can tell you his best position left back in the changing rooms

Wouldnt be missed. Jack of all trades, master of none. Can't run past a man, very really passes the ball forward.

Think fans treatment of Ben is a bit harsh he does quietly go about his business and goes unnoticed but really think we would miss him and let's face it every manager has moved him not letting him become the master of anything not by his choice if he is sold think fans would realise the hole he would leave would rather sell Bereton and sign Maddison

GazzaRed, whatever anyone thinks of Osborn, whenever fit he has been usually played by all the many managers since getting into the first team. If they were not happy by anything he did other than give 100% and having the ability to run seemingly forever then they would have trained those out of him.

You all forget how Brereton ripped the arsenal defence apart playing under Brazil.

Osbourne and Brereton are both good players. Osbourne in an attacking midfield role will do a good job and is back up in other positions. His wages are like playing one good attacking midfielder and three backup players.

Rowett is no idiot and knows the above. If he offers silly money then fine. If not, let's not need several squad players to fill all the backup slots Osbourne does (left back, Def Mid, No. 10) and lose a good left sided attacker.

Have to laugh at these 'left back in changing room' type comments. Usual ignorance of what a team man does. fills in the gaps, works hard, enables others to play. like McGovern of old? No successful and winning team can cope without such players and Osborn is far under rated by the glory hunters. When managers like Benitez rate you then you are a decent player and Osborn is rated by many as well as being one of our own.
