How true it is i can not say but i have seen that Hull have agreed terms with Eric, but can not agree a fee with Forest, the fee Forest want is £400,000.

I can not figure out how they are thinking, Eric although never sensational he is a consistent decent experienced Championship defender with a year left on his contract, and they do not think he is worth £400,000.

Max Clark has very little Championship experience has let his contract run out and they want £1m in compensation.

It's called business win.
Both sides playing hard ball and trying to get the best deal.
Leave it to the money men,If it happens it happens if it don't? Then move on to the next target.

They have seem our owner splash the cash so they now think that they can take the mick! Allam is your archetypal businessman!

Ff, asking for £400,000 for Eric is hardly playing hard ball by Forest in my opinion but i understand your point.

To date, the owner hasn't splashed any cash, we have a loan player, a freebie and Carvalho whos 13m transfer is being paid over 5 years, so just under 3m per year.

Considering that Hull are still receiving parachute payments, in the scheme of things £400,000 isn't much.

Gazzared so do you think every other club pays big transfer fees in one hit then?think you’ll find most transfers are paid in instalments,if some on here were around when the water into wine miracle was done they’d be complaining about the vintage!

Stevie - I think you've misunderstood my point. Sgetty made the point that we've splashed the cash, but in reality that isn't true. If anything well done Marankis for doing sensible business.

Gazzared. I think you may have misunderstood my point. I was trying to look at things from the perspective of Mr Allam

And Mr Allan won't be stupid enough to think that Forest have just gone out and spent 13m on one player outright. So he has no reason to believe we are "splashing" any cash.

Gaza merely pointing out that according to your post nobody is splashing the cash unless all the money is paid upfront, whereas I believe that is not normal in the game

Stevie f, i may be wrong but i think GazzaRed is trying to say, as the cost of the Portuguese lad will be spread over his five year contract and he is the only expensive player we have signed then we have not splashed the cash as such, it is not as if we have brought in 4,5,or 6 expensive players in, not as yet anyway.

You're right Stevie, think we're getting wires crossed, definitely normal in the game nowadays to spread costs over many months or even years in the case of Carvalho. Its very clever business as only 3m max has been paid out for the player to Benefica until next year so if the move does not work out, we're still well within FFP and can sell him on and pay all, if not the majority of the money owed to benefice. So what seems like a big transfer fee, the transfer itself is quite low risk.

Surely as a club we have more spending power than we have had for a few years and prospective vendors will be aware of this and as a consequence will attempt to over inflate their asking price for players they are looking to sell to us.
