James McCarthy is surplus at Everton and is just the sort of midfielder to add energy to our midfield and a firm favourite of Martin.

A great statement of intent if Martin goes for him and let's go of a couple of our fringe players?

Robinson is half decent at LB, needs to curb his bookings tally.
Agree on CB but I'd go for a league 1, younger player that's really hungry and wants to progress.
Striker on loan only, it's January don't spend stupid money on someone's cast off to end up rotting on high wages.

Evertonians are calling the McCarthy rumour up here. 'When he's fit, he's a cracking player'. So not fit and on PL wages. Loan with a view to permanent, subject to contract maybe? But agree, we need 3 midfielders shifting first.

We already have a good strong box to box midfielder, he's called Yates we don't need any more. I'd prefer Bridcutt to Guediora any day.

I'm looking forward to seeing the likes of Yates and appiah as I think Martin will give them their chance,but it's still early in their careers,so we must expect to much to soon from them.
Think he will use the likes of ward and bridcutt as well.
If figs and Dawson aren't fit for Saturday I'd prefer Anel Ahmedhodzic to make his debut,not keen on makeshift centre backs and shuffling everything around,just play a player whoes position that is.

Anel, I believe, has played for his country internationally, but I don't recall him being outstanding in any way. Putting him in the centre means he will need an awful lot of advice because of his lack of experience and against a team like Bristol that would be a big mistake. Most likely Yacob will have to play there again because he knows how to position himself and is a good tackler - that always brings confidence to those around him.

RIE, But he is injury prone, is he not, we do not need that type of player no matter how good he is when fit.
