A little bird (not Twitter a member of staff) tells me that MON has "expressed his surprise at the judgement" of whoever decided the England under 21 trophy winning international Joe Worrall and Tyler Walker are both farmed out to other clubs for the whole season when there is obviously a good chance of picking up injuries in December.

I agree with him. We have central defenders over 30 and/or with a history of injuries (Dawson, Hefela, Fox) and if we use Robinson as cover no natural left back. We also let Tyler go even though we didn't have a pacy striker with any experience available.

If Karanka made these choices then it is his fault we have had this defensive crisis and his fault we have dropped out of contention. No question about it.

Whoever signed Ansirafard knew he wouldn't be available in the period of the season we are most likely to have injuries and suspensions and need extra bodies. Another mysterious poor decision.

Did that little bird point out that neither player is good enough and never will be which is the point of farming them out.

Well I don't think MON agrees. Neither does Steven Gerrard.

I'd agree that the jury is still out on Tyler by the way but not that he is not good enough

Different managers rate players differently. Worrall was probably loaned out because AK had 4 players ahead of him in the pecking order. That’s 2 playing and a couple back ups. Walker is probably playing at his level now. The only issue I had was lack of depth at left back (as usual!)

Tyler Walker will never be good enough, the decision to let him go out and get some game time on loan was best for all parties and still is.

Joe Worrall was the right decision at the time when we had Dawson, Figueiredo, Hefele and Fox competing for two places. Worrall was better off developing at Rangers than sat here as 4th or 5th choice.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, especially if you want to take a dig at an ex-Manager and drop all the blame on him.

Karanka didn't sign Ansarifard either. It was obviously the Greek team behind the scenes that put the deal together. His links with Olympiakos give it away. Mystery solved.

We have seen both Worrall and Walker in the first team and neither can hold a place down. Both are getting the game time they need to develop so I do not see what the issue is as nearly everyone thought it was a good call at the time and both players are benefitting from the decision?

All of those comments ignore the point that three of the four central defenders are over 30 or injury prone. Worrall would have had games here for that reason. He's also a better player than Hefela and probably Fox (but less experienced).

And it isn't true that everyone though it was a good call to send Worrall out. Under Brian Clough he would have been here at Forest and learning from our staff and senior professionals.

I bet Steven Gerrard is laughing at us. He has a £10M defender (yes we turned that down) without the fee and is allowing Worrall to bond with his club and staff while we struggle for defenderrs. Doh!

And yes, it is Karanka's fault.

Hefele injury prone? He played 42 games (33 starts) for Huddersfield the year they went up and started all 38 games for Dresden the season before that. His only recent injury was last season sat on the Huddersfield bench. And it was a knee injury, nothing to do with his current achilles problem.

And Fox has started 70 games for Forest over the last two and a half seasons, even though he's been in and out of favour.

Injury prone, my arm.

There are some very ageist old timers on this site!
Apart from the class of 92 you win nought with kids and our most successful teams always had some old heads at the back!
Apart from the goalkeepers Osborn Colback and Carvalho the rest of the squad have had injury spells and so have previous squads so how can that be the managers fault?

How can it be Karanka's fault that defenders got injured and suspended, that is a ridiculous stretch Red.

If he hadn't loaned out players that were not getting any game time you would be moaning the other way. Maybe you could lend the new manager your crystal ball so he can get everything right for you.

Darikwa Robinson janco Dias goncalves grabban cash yacob Watson and geddy and lolley, have been available all season in general barring the odd niggle.
So not just colback Osborn and calvahalo.
It's the central defenders that have been constantly injured, but that happens when you have players like Dawson heffle fox and Byram none of whom have managed a full season for years,so the manager is to blame by bring so many unfit players to the club and relying on them to stay fit for the season.
They all need disposing of as they are unreliable and the defence is forever changing.

Hefela has had a bad injury in recent years. And Fox is over 30 as is Dawson. So I was right matey.

Yes red cyclist all injury prone and need to be forgotten, keep Dawson on as coach with the youngsters,Worrall would have learnt so much from Dawson rather than going out on loan.

On year bike 2 tone😁
Only ride mine on the cycle tracks and canal sides and always get off when I see a hill, well wouldn't want to slow the traffic down.🤣🤣🤣

I spend most of my time trying to dodge traffic. I live in the city 2tone so I have to obey the taxi driver law. Taxis always have right of way.

But Hefela has had a bad injury. He has another now. Fox is over 30. So is Dawson and Dawson was never going to play every game. So if Worrall is a better player or even as good as Hefela then developing him makes more sense than playing players whose value will only go down.

AND HE IS ONE OF US!!! COYR!

Yea, all players over 30 are rubbish, injury prone and should be ditched posthaste. Good call.

Jack Colback will be 30 in October let's hope we don't sign him permanently. Yacob's getting on as well, 32 in the Summer. These players are dragging us down.

Why are you pretending people say things they haven't Wonky?

The balance of the squad was wrong. Nobody said players can't be useful after 30. I suspect you are just trying to make a faux put-down because you were one of the Karanka lovers who were wrong and WE WERE RIGHT!

Yes, we were right. And the balance was wrong. As per above. MON is right.
