First time on here so hello all!

A disappointing day. It’s a very steep learning curve. Hopefully there won’t be any knee jerk reactions.

We have a great guy in Cooper and a good looking squad.
COYR.

{Ed014's Note - welcome aboard mate, enjoy the banter

Hi Ed014, much appreciated.
I have been reading posts on here for years and have finally taken the plunge.
Been following Forest since I was 9 …. so 46 years! It started really well……! ?
We are back where we belong now and hopefully we’ll survive but if not we have a good (mainly) young squad to get us back.
Cooper has done a sensational job so far and no matter what happens this season I hope the owner sticks with him. Full marks to the owner too btw…. excellent backing both in the transfers and the plans for the City Ground.
I think this is the best time to be a Forest fan for a long time but it’ll still be a lot of ups and downs.
COYR.

{Ed014's Note - well glad you’ve joined this motley crew mate.

Think you’ve plenty to be positive about, it’s a steep learning curve back in the Prem but we’re only a few games in.

Cooper will sort it and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Welcome stag and hope you post regularly as it’s entertaining on here ALL the time. One thing I cannot agree on is that the prem is not where we belong. Evidenced by our long absence. We are Forest who had a long period in the old first division under a genius partnership. The prem is a different world to that old division and the way it’s run and managed is all about greed. VAR is killing live football with mental decisions and microscopic analysis creating false weird decisions. hope you enjoy

Hi Rutland, thanks for the welcome.
I do agree with a lot of what you say. Football is certainly a totally different entity now. Personally I am still on the fence re VAR, I’m not totally convinced it’s as accurate as it’s meant to be and certainly breaks up the natural flow of the game but have seen it work well too. I guess the main issue is it’s still prone to human interpretation and error unlike other sports - Cricket (ball tracking/ ultra edge etc) and Tennis (Hawkeye) both of which are not only accurate but fairly quick.
I do think Forest should be a top flight club but again agree that Clough and Taylor got us unexpected success.
In the here and now though we are PL. I think Copper should be given the season to keep us progressing - even if we need a backward step. Full marks to the owner too for the hefty investment.
Hopefully once the squad gel and are all are fit (how did we used to manage with a squad of 15?! ) it’ll be onwards and upwards!
COYR.

Cheers stag, I would add that the investment this season and the type of egotistical players purchased are for this league so relegation is not an option. Promotion caught us cold and the way we have swept Europe for POTENTIAL is mind blowing. Somebody knows what they are doing, don't THEY?
Marinakis, his son and Murphy have been deeply involved with signings, that in itself could be destructive. I feel for cooper as so much is out of his hands but he will take the brunt of failure….

Anybody who thinks Cooper will get a full season playing same has yesterday is delusional.

Hi Rutland,
Again I agree with a lot of what you say. Some of our new additions certainly won’t be with us if we go down. I think a lot will though and I think that recruitment has been done hoping for the best whilst preparing for the worst and we need some high profile and ego driven individuals if we are to have any chance of staying up.
I think some of the signings were none Cooper driven but some most certainly were and the owner and his son (along with Murphy) got those done too.
I think Redjester is right…. a season of playing as we did yesterday won’t be (and shouldn’t be) tolerated.
I think yesterday 2-0 up at HT you have to look at the 11 players on the pitch and they need to take ownership of that second half performance.
My only question re Cooper yesterday is why not start a recognised striker against a team that the week before conceded 9! Seems odd to me.
Anyway Leeds next and hopefully some lessons learned and a better result.
COYR!
