He went back to Chelsea over a month ago. Mcleish confirmed that in one of his interviews {Ed034's Note - only for treatment. he started training again three/four weeks ago

Agree - terrible that is ability is blighted by injury. On the contrary though, should we have looked elsewhere for a season long loan given his serious injury problem and total lack of any run of games?

He's have been a class act for us this season. such a shame for a good, honest, harding working pro with an abundance of skill. Hope everything turns out well for you Sam in mot too distant future. The medics have got wrong before.
