Nat Jackson on social media site saying a bid has been made by NFFC for Kelvin Wilson. Does anyone else feel we are going backwards if we make this signing? {Ed034's Note - why??? he is a very good defender and will improve us. if he hadn't had already played for us, people would not be saying anything like this

Million times better player than Wes. Unfortunately I just can't see this happening (i know the bid has gone in) after what happened last time he was at the club

2.) 19 Jul 2013
Top quality defender, reads the game well and has pace. would be a great addition to the squad.

3.) 19 Jul 2013
Lets look at the evidence. With Celtic, he has played for a SPL team and played in Champions League games. He is strong, more experienced, still young (27) and a leader on the pitch. Would he add quality to our play? Yes. Would he add competition? Yes. Should we be happy if he signs again for us? Absolutely. A quality addition for the team, not dead wood, and would be a fine career move for KW. I like Wes but personally, Wilson and Hobbs would also make a fine defence next year. And the moving backwards idea. I can see why you might think this but BD has returned to us and this is nothing new in football, as Mourinho to Chelsea proves. Sometimes people leave teams, jobs etc to return stronger.

Good solid centre back. was quality at forest and now he has so much more experience. would be a good signing. This could mean that the wes morgan persuit is over.

5.) 19 Jul 2013
I hope not him and billy fell out Note -

Didn't he leave because of him and billy having a fall out. Do you think they will just forget about that? And also are we just going for are 2nd or 3rd option? I do think he is a good defender but what will he offer to what we have already?

7.) 19 Jul 2013
Quality centre half, champions league experience, can play a pass. Who really knows what went off last time around, but money talks. I for one would love him back!

8.) 19 Jul 2013
What Wilson would bring to the team is a very good defender with pace to burn, I lost count how many times we were hit on the break last season with our defenders chasing opposition strikers in vain. Last time wilson was a Forest player we very rarely got caught out like this.

9.) 19 Jul 2013
Even when KW signed for us in the first place there was people saying it wouldn't work out because Billy had KW when at Preston. Not sure what I'm trying to say but let's just see what happens. Anyway, I reckon the wages would be more of an issue. Laois Red.

10.) 19 Jul 2013
Brilliant, as far as I am concerned. a real stand-out player for us in 2009. before the craziness set-in

11.) 19 Jul 2013
Don't you think if we bring in Kelvin Wilson we could get rid of Captain Collins who imo was not as foot sure last season? as he was in his younger days with other clubs.

12.) 19 Jul 2013
He has champions league experience now, how can that be a backward step.

13.) 19 Jul 2013
Money better spent in my eyes than the bids going in for wes, wilson and hobbs, great pair to have at the back. then pick wes up for free at end of season when we got prem footy and fester still in second tier.

14.) 19 Jul 2013
One of very few centre halves around who could make that step up to the prem. wouldn't be phased by 'big name' opposition and as has been stated reads the game well and is quick enough to recover if he or we get caught out.
I don't blame Billy for last time- what does it say to the rest of your squad who aren't leaving if he carried on playing him? I'll tell you what it says it says Kelvin is better than you lot and when he's gone to Celtic you'll me my back up so I can totally see why he moth balled him tbh
Notts Loyal

15.) 19 Jul 2013
Would prefer Wilson back to big Wes, much better than Wes and would be better along side Hobbs.

16.) 19 Jul 2013
If there are any differences that need sorting between BD & KW then I'm sure they will as they are both professionals.

In terms of would he be a good signing? IMO, absolutely! He, Hobbs possibly Wes too & Halford we would have real competition for those CB spots. I agree with Notts Loyal's post too that KW could make the step up to Prem. He is a good, solid CB. Good in the air, a leader, good in the tackle & has pace.

In response to Laois Red's post, I really don't think his wages would be an issue as he can't be on much more than Hooper & we were in for him. They must have an idea on that before making the bid I would have thought.

Phil.

It does make me laugh people saying didn't he and billy fall out, we know they did and we can be assured that billy wouldn't try to sign him if he didn't believe they could the past behind them. Him and wes would be phenomenal our best cb pairing in years now with more experience. What could go wrong
