Hi ed, just read a report that newcastle and arsenel have put in bids for lasselles apparently 3milion plus add on with performances etc, newcastle have bid higer. I say we keep until we get a lot bigger fee for him. Personally prefare not to sel lasselles I think the lad has huge potential. Reported in dail mail online.

{Ed034's Note - if it is only £3m them I don't think we have anything to worry about and why would Newcastle look to sign a right back as an alternative to lascelles??

1.) 16 Jan 2014
He's being highly spoke of in the media. 10m minimum.

2.) 16 Jan 2014
We should not sell at that price. As Ed has said every player has his price, but that's not it.

3.) 16 Jan 2014
Jamal does not want to leave.
Why should he to sit on the bench of a Prem Club? This does not develop or let young players gain experience.
Our Owner/. Chairman has put the club on a very financially stable base, so with a fair wage and possible Prem footy with us then why would he leave?
IERM

4.) 16 Jan 2014
What if the player wants to leave - I'm sure any young player would be tempted especially by arsenal, and Newcastle are not exactly a relegation fodder team so let's hope he stays and matures with us.

5.) 16 Jan 2014
Wouldn't sell him for 6m next year he could be 12m keep him

6.) 16 Jan 2014
To be honest £3m is an insult. Everyone knows he is going to be a major star.

7.) 16 Jan 2014
If forest sell for that money it really will tell us 1 or 2 things about we're we are heading especially since we have been priced out of the market for every player we have been bidding on

{Ed034's Note - why is it that everytime anything like this comes up, it is going to show us 'where we are heading' or 'our ambition'??
as long as we sell him for good money, then we will still be able to see where we are heading.
look who Southampton have sold and look at where they are

8.) 16 Jan 2014
ED - didn't we receive a bid last year around the £5 million mark, I wouldn't be letting him go for less than £8-£10 Million.

But I wouldn't sell, if the club has realistic ambitions of playing in the premier league.

AC

{Ed034's Note - £2.5m upfront and £2.5m with add ons

9.) 16 Jan 2014
Normally I'd agree but with arsenal I feel different, they seem to be good with bedding in and developing the youth players, the likes of Wilshire, Ramsay, oxlade, Walcott, Gibbs, even Jenkinson in part. So if he was to go anywhere I'd like to see him leave or arsenal as that's the place I feel he'll most likely develop successfully.

Not for £3m mind, that's just a joke!

This sounds like negotiation tactics to me- bid low (lower than the previous £5m bid that was rejected) unsettle the player and eventually get him for a lot lower than he might be worth. Atleast there are several clubs interested so if the worst happens we can play them off against each other

{Ed034's Note - we don't know its less. last time they offered £2.5m up front and the rest as add ons. this could be £3m plus add ons.
cant see us even considering it

11.) 16 Jan 2014
But if we turned down 5 million from arsenal a couple of seasons ago, ars they having a laugh. now 6m at least. Think they are testing the water.

12.) 16 Jan 2014
If he was worth 5m a couple of years ago, with football/prem inflation and the fact that he has clearly gotten better and is starting to achieve his potential, 3m bid is a bloody joke an insult. tell them to stick it. 8-10m more like.

13.) 16 Jan 2014
I say let's only sell when we know what the outcome of this season is going to be.

If we reach the Premiership, how much would it cost to buy him?.

Ed?

{Ed034's Note - at the minute he is under contract, we are not desperate for money, so he has to be a minimum of £7m.
if he helps us get promoted, fawaz will be able to flex his money muscle and we will be in an even better position, so £10m+ after half a season
