Mikhail. Leiterwood (?) Just been on 5Live desperate for a club. Would be nice to give him a short contract while he gets fit. I thought he looked. A good player in the half hour he played at city ground. It would be a nice gesture COYR!

If he isn't fit enough or good enough there is no room for nice gestures in this game

Unless nffc has turned Into to a players charity?

A strange post

He would be another good squad member but I would be very concerned if we started giving contracts out to injured/unfit players whilst they recover or get fit, maybe a short contract when he's proved his fitness and capability would be a more sensible approach. i'm sure we let him use our facilities to train and recover but anymore would be crazy.

So we gave him three tries to get fit and he failed so a good gesture would be to give him a contract?very strange, we are not a charity.
He would be a good addition if fit but he had a few tries with us and it didn't work move on.

I agree but I suggested a short term gamble for a player obviously rated and SP said we owed him duty of care. The alternative may be his career is over of course you old softy.

Alternately give him a pay as you play contract he has to prove fitness to get paid but has all the club facilities and staff to give him the best chance.

I thought he was still at the club to be honest. Didn't sp say that we would be taking responsibility to get him fit again as he got injured playing for us.
Very good player when fit

And why do you think reading didn't want him? and offer new deal

I completely agree with you redsfanstan. Just give him a six month contract and see what happens. He's not going to want paying loads is he, if he's that desperate. Top pro, would provide the kids with experience and a great player when fit. I believe he is getting help from our physios anyway.

Err Wilson, Laing & Riera?? Don't need him I'm afraid he should try across the river there they're looking for decent signings pay as you play could suit both parties down to the ground?

Sorry but what have defenders got to do with a a classy creative attacking forward? I think defense is sorted just thinking a bit of cover upattacking midfield etc.?

SP likes him, speaks highly of him and his influence within the group so he will decide if he gets a job and SP can do no wrong at the moment in my eyes.

IMO Liegertwood is class, and just the type of player forest could do with in the squad, he totally bossed it in the holding defensive midfield roll against WBA until he got injured, he's big strong, athletic and very composed and assured on the ball, just the type of player you can throw on for the last 20/30 mins if we are coming under fire, similar to Tesche from the little We have seen, but sits deeper, I think if he shakes off his niggles he will be a good asset to the club, SP ain't just being nice keeping him around he has seen potential, I'm surprised so many of us don't rate him tbh.

NottsLoyal obviously a big football fan. Leigertwood is a central midfielder not a centre half.
