All of you that are blaming the players and not blaming Pearce.
Think back to when Brian Clough came to Forest, we had very average players like : Anderson, O'Neill, Robertson, Woodcock. We then bought a centre forward from Birmingham (Burns) and turned him into a central defender, we also bought an over weight CD from Liverpool reserves (Lloyd), we also bought a centre forward from Bimingham (Withe) who was struggling to get his pick, we bought a left back from Newcastle that was ready for retirement ( Clarke). We then go and buy a CM & CF ( McGovern & O'Hare) who are with out being disrespectful not world beaters, and what have we got English Champions and League cup winners.

There's a lot to be said about good managers?

Couldn't of said it better myself red

To be fair with the two "who are not world beaters", in hindsight they totally were. Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't McGovern already a league champion and progressed pretty far in the Euopean cup with Derby as well as playing for Leeds, the champions at the time? Although that didn't go so well because of BC's short spell there. So, McGovern was already a good talent and certainly had something about him. Legend. Certainly not an average player, even when We picked him up.

Larry Loyd came from Coventry, Burns often played cente half at Brum, McGovern and O'hare had league winners medals at that club the other end of the A52

Wouldnt mind having four " very average" players of the quality of Anderson , Oneill , Woodcock and Robertson in the team now

Someone who often gets overlooked, but with almost 600 appearances is Ian Bowyer. Wouldn't mind someone of his ilk in the team right now. Boss of a player. Met him during his last season playing with us, I was a ball boy, home against Coventry and he gave me a pound note lol.
