Congratulations to DF for being nominated for the manager of the month award. This news must be quite embarrassing to some posters on here who predicted Armageddon when he took over from SP!

Why some would have thought that way.

We not only had one of our footballing hereo's failed to turn things around, partly due to not being allowed to implement everything he wanted, not enough experience, and finally, he is just too nice.

We have also had more experienced managers fail to turn things around, including the Scottish geezer Walter whom was very respected for what he had achieved.

All of a sudden we had this ex Forest player who had only managed to get Palace to 4th, i think then he made a dreadful decision of joining what he thought was a bigger, and better club in Bolton. That decision alone would have made people question him.

It is one thing to be nominated, and it is another to win it, and some think winning it brings bad luck.

Totally agree tomorrow and Pearce got nominated twice why at forest didn't do him much good but well done dougie on the budget you have had will like to see how you get on when the ffp lifted and you have money to spend.

If there's one thing you can guarantee on this site it's the above two posters agreeing with each other. Yes SP did get nominated for player of the month and rightly so, he deserved it and so does DF. But the difference is SP got a fair crack at the job from day one even though eventually it didn't work out for him. In the coming weeks and months things might well turn sour for DF also. All managers get pushed out in the end but the point of my post was to highlight the fact that some posters were against him before a ball was kicked! I wonder who they were?

Don't think billy is a bad manager just throws the toys out the pram a lot good championship manager in my opinion a bit like Harry Bassett.

Don't worry Ed I'm only on my nightly wind up. I'm actually typing this as our under 18's are cruelly knocked out of the FA Youth Cup in injury time having had as much luck as the first team!

League position come the end of the season is the only thing that defines success or failure!

That puts Clough, Clark, Bassett and Calderwood as the ONLY successful managers of recent times.
