Johnny 66

You wanted enlightening on work in progress argument.

Do you remember Lica, Lam, Perquis, Stojkovic, and the midfielder who was that memorable I have forgotten his name?
Do you remember our leading goal scorer putting in a transfer request and then leaving to play for one of our rivals.
Do you remember the last time we put out a team with the average age of 23?
Do you remember ever having such a good loan signing as Dowell?
Do you remember surviving last season on goal difference?
Do you remember just over a month ago beating QPR 4:0?

No we are not the finished article and yes we still have a long way to go, but to not see progress is plain daft!

The argument is for keeping faith with the progress being made or to rip up the plan and start again.

We have tried the Rio up the plan and start again method about 10 times in the last 6 years it has not worked.

I was as frustrated as the next man after the Shef Wed game, but I am even more frustrated with the constant calls for chopping and changing.

I hope this helps, but some how I doubt it

I think the calls for his head are coming because everyone but mw can see we have the players to do better just need them all in there best positions and more simple tactics good old 442 and we would be doing far better then against so called easier teams try his new tactics or if were 3 - 0 up change to his new tactics not just keep flogging a dead horse that clearly isn't working

We stayed up by luck last season Mark Warburtons abject failure to complete the job at home against Blackburn (worst performance I’ve ever seen)

We played well against QPR but they were poor on the day. If we were so good that day how come we’ve struggled ever since?

You’ve given no clear examples of progress

Aaron Ramsey
Ryan Bertrand

Why do you assume that every fan sees playing a load of kids as progress ? To me those decisions are making us easy to beat.
Once upon a time we brought five kids in: Reid, Dawson, Williams, Morgan and Prutton. Surely you not going to say this bunch or anywhere near that level? It was a one off and as much as we dream it can happen again it probably can’t. It’s not realistic to blood that many youngsters in one go.

Even the mighty Man U haven’t replicated the scholes, beckham. Butt Neville success and they are attracting the cream of prospect and talent.

I’ll now brace myself to be told I want Warburton sacked, I’m one of those fans that’s part of the problem. There are a few who want warburton sacked, I can understand why but you in particular appear to want to castigate and marginalise every fan who voiced concerns about Warburtons abilities as a problem to the club.

Questioning what he he’ll is going on around key matters such as;
ignoring seasoned pros, overseeing the same mistakes week in week out and failing to coach and choose a system of play to beat teams like Sheff weds is not tautamount in all cases, to seeking for the manager to be sacked.

I guess in the end you’re contributing to a debate with your examples above but you’d have to do much better I think to sway people’s views right now.

As far as Warburtons concerned, let’s hope we beat Sunderland and continue with the one step forward two steps back story for this season. That will see us comfortable mid table. If we start taking 3 steps back I really fear for him.

Another big crowd expected who could turn up the heat if we don’t halt the slide. If we lose I fear for him and believe he could go which, inspite of your dogma isn’t what most of us want. I hope we snatch a win and we keep up the mid table security results pattern. Meanwhile I’ll feel free to come and this site and call the manager out in all the things that simply aren’t good enough. Namely the ability to defend and his questionable performance so far with our limited and valuable funds in the transfer market.

Calm down wishey. We agree on most things but its all down to opinions. My honest opinion is warbs will manage us to safety but no more. I think he is a short term settler. For that we are grateful. But his tactics and squad management are poor end of. We all love Forest.

Beating QPR 4-0 lol!
Talk about clutching at straws Wishey!
I've a feeling a lot of posters will be clinging to that result all season and it was as good as 2 months ago not just over a month.
Not much to shout about since though and we should have been 0-2 down after 10 minutes as well but QPR were garbage.

2 star can you explain the Huddersfield result and performance?
Got a feeling I know what you will come up with though.
Birmingham would have been relegated anyway, but Harry got lucky playing a reserve team.

So we we're lucky in one respect and unlucky in another.
Just saying.
Some of these youngsters will be very good,if you can't see that, then I feel sorry for you.
We didn't achieve much under the likes of Morgan and the rest either.
In fact we got relegated to div one with Morgan so that argument don't stand up

Relegated with who FF79? Doughty sold them all which is the reason we got relegated. Once again you come back with a retort out of context. Whether they will be good or not is irrelevant l. They aren’t good enough to play every week and keep the seasoned pros out o the team. Save you sympathy for MW because if he can’t see that he will unfortunately join the list of managers shown the door as he whole fan base (bar a happy clapping minority) breath a sigh of relief. Wake up and play 9 experienced pros and two young players and he be fine and will take us forward.
Oh and by the way to try and claim we went to he last day because of the Huddersfield situation is as pathetic as blaming officials when we lose. Our business should have been taken care of by our manager weeks before it came to that. Your suggestion otherwise lacks any credibility and is Frankly - laughable.

I'm with you 2star.Criticism of the manager doesn't automatically mean you want him sacked.Im hopeful he's seen the error of his ways and makes some astute signings at the right end of the pitch this January.

Selection from:
Henderson, mancienne, mills, traore, Worrall, ward, Vaughan, Osborn, carayol, Murphy, vellios lichaj bridcutt, McKay. Fox (if fit) dowell if McKay or Worral don’t play
Two up and coming in McKay and Worral. Osborn should be classed as established so not included in the count, if he’s not then time to move him on.
Don’t ask me how I’d set the team up that’s the managers Job to set us up with the best players we have at he club. He’s not doing that basic requirement recently which is why we’re losing games.
Bit thin on the ground isn’t it? But perhaps we should have thought about that before we wasted money on Darikwa who warburton must have thought was a better player than lichaj or why leave so many other things to chance? Persisting with darikwa instead of lichaj does appear like a face saving excercise as he must have thought he’d brought a superior player to the one he already had on that position or why spend such a large quantity of very small transfer budget on a player for a position that is adequalty covered when so many others are woefully sparse ?

2 Star

20 posters on here do not represent the whole fan base!

Happy Clappers, are people who disagree with you I assume?

The Sheffield Wednesday second half performance was appalling! There you go! Anyone can see the faults, Mark Warburton included.

It is not happy clapping to state that the first half performance against Sheffield Wednesday could have easily seen us 4:1 up at half time.
They scored a wonder goal.
They got a penalty that was a penalty, but a rarely given. Every game you watch you see players being manhandled without consequence.

Not all a happy clapper is a flippant response to the constant deriding of those who are not willing to be bulldozed into accepting poor team selections, pitiful use of transfer money and failure to learn from mistakes as work in progress. Perhaps you might try looking a bit closer to home before you try and pin the badge of negative merging on me. Nice try nonetheless bit your range of posts clearly show that you are constantly trying to undermine any opinions that aren’t allied to your own.

Sorry regarding the whole fan base comment, read the post. I’ll break it down for you. Very few want MW gone now but I’d he persists with his current ways things will get worse and we will slide. He will lose the fans and most would be glad to see him go should that circumstance arise. Let’s hope we grab those 22 points as quickly as possible so he can use th me rest of this season to get his act together and come up with an action plan suitable to compete in the 2nd tier of English football. I’m sure you’ll agree watching us strugggle every week in the 2nd tier is a bit depressing even you’re very and have a penchant for clapping

I’m sure nobody accepts poor team selections, poor tactics or poor play.
However this happens when a relatively new manager is trying to juggle a very average squad.
When he picked seasoned pro’s instead of youth he was slated.
When he picked youth over seasoned pro’s he was slated.
He has tried a mixture of both trying to juggle constant injuries to the old players and mistakes/ loss of confidence to the young ones.
Some are now having a go at the owner for not commenting and staying in the back ground, when the previous owner was slated for constantly commenting in the media.
Sometimes I really despair .
I want the best for the club but realise it will take more than a season to fix.
We ain’t rich we ain’t a massive draw to top drawer players so it will take time to polish rough diamonds instead of buying polished diamonds.
There is a little stability now, the crowds are up. Even though we are average , maybe more than most fans can see that the future will slowly get better
