Like most people on here I desperately wanted MW to do well, though I had reservations reading what one of the Eds on here said about him at Rangers. I'm not sure either that I wanted him to go at this point in the year. Will we now NOT sign players like SaltyClarke who he had lined up? Will McParland abandon ship? The after shocks will not be very pleasant.

However I myself said last year let's give him 10-15 games in before we pass judgement. Despite what you might all say, the fans on the terraces can smell a rat when it exists and they have made their feelings known with their pride in the Club and the willingness to support the lads at all costs.

My view for what it's worth (probably not much according to lots on here) is that MW had lost the dressing room some time ago. If you remember Eric took over the last game under Montanier and re-organised the defence and played a blinder - well he showed his frustration yet again against Sunderland at the end, desperately trying to get us even despite the Manager. If you've lost Eric, in my view an ideal professional, then you've lost everyone.

A new Year brings new hope - all we have been asking for is a Man- Manager who can make sense out of the players we have got and get the right combinations working. surely we have players who are as good as many in this league? Our personnel are not that bad, but as old big 'ead would have said they need a kick up the proverbial, and be clear about what they are supposed to do? At present too many of them wander about passing backwards to anyone who is near and letting defences get back and park several buses.

Marinakis's choice will be vital, so let's hope he gets some good advice, but to be safe leave it to Gary and his team for a short while to try and rescue some sort of pride and lift a few tired spirits.

With the club on a sound financial footing, we should not ask for too much: staying in the top 15 for me will do this year, but I would dread it if we started scrabbling around the bottom 5 in the table.

Completely agree with you and really wanted Warburton to succeed. May have lost the dressing room ,despite think it was Smith (correct me if I'm wrong) giving the confidence of the team publicly in one of the post match interviews.

Quite interesting though, McParlad left Thurs/Fri, Warburton and Weir goes the next few days, hasn't been the first time that has happened. maybe they all want to stick as one group. Warburton may not have been prepared to go on without McParland. Again could be total BS but interesting that its not the first club its happened at.
