Pleased for Fox and Vellios, the forgotten ones, who AK included at Wolves. Although the Greek didn't get on he must have felt valued at least after his dire treatment under Warburton. Fox as recieved plenty of stick on here, but had a fine game and deserves his chance at left back, plus he as never let us down covering in the central role. I think AK will give Vellios his chance at Hull along with Clough and probably even McKay plus any player who as caught his eye in training as he puts great emphasive on how players do on the training field. A rare cup run would be nice and a top half finish is well within AKs capability imo. The futures bright its red and white. COYR.

I thought AK might have given Vellious 15 to 20 minutes yesterday as young Brereton was running on empty towards the end!

AK must be seeing good things on the training ground to put Vellios on the bench, i hope he works hard and gets his chance, agree with Stokey, Ben looked cream crackered towards the end he gave everything as did all the lads âš“

Vellios is a very different player to Brereton. The latter will run his heart out and run at defences - when did you ever see Vellios doing that? The Greek is a player who looks to snatch goals in the box, can pass a ball but doesn't receive long balls well or hold up play for others like Murphy can. If he's going to get a game he'll have to show in practice that he can do more that just stick a leg out in front of goal occasionally.

Quite true bsered, maybe if we are cruising and have an unassailable lead then bring on Vellios, but having said that there are types of games that suit his style of play, still time will tell i am a happy RED this W/E and hopefully next week end as well let's have a cup run and put some money into the kittyâš“

What he doesn’t do is go on aimless runs before losing the ball and what he does do is score goals, unlike brereton. Also I think you’re wrong, I think he holds the ball up well. We miss a poacher like assombalonga and velios is the best we have at the moment apart from Murphy who’s always knackered.

I think vellios was in the squad as he is our only other fit striker so unless he's getting game time I wouldn't read to much into it

Billybongsocks: you are underrating what Brereton does. He causes defences endless problems and takes up their time and energy. Just look what he did to Arsenal - do you seriously think Vellios could do that? No way. They are different players with different styles. Vellios is not a supersub. I can see him coming on when we have the game sown up and he might get game time to do that soon and give Brereton or Walker a rest. He'll have to change his style in my book to be a first choice. There are not many 18 year old strikers who can do what Ben does.

In fairness i doubt many on here can remember whst velios can or cannot do. His confidence must be shot by now anyway. Rarely has a player been thrown into the wilderness for so long when he showed promise in pre season. So we rely on youtube for memories. Take a look his goals are crackers. As for general play at 6'4 he is an ariel threat and from what i have seen of murphy well velios is more mobile and can hold the ball just as well.

All true besred , and I do think brereton is improving all the time but he is a striker and how many goals has he scored? One? We can’t rely on an 18 year old up front on his own, we need some experience up there
