IMO Ben Brereton is like a pedigree puppy, running, snapping and falling over, he is a long way of the top flight so i think he should be used as a sub when the older players tire or get injured or sent on loan to a lower div team chasing promotion 🐶

Karanka knows best?
He's the manager.

Ff79 yes he knows best but you have to question why do we put so msny crosses in to the box when we have no recognised striker. Ben is about 5'11 and jumps about 5'12. I think Karanja looks at the non stop running of Brereton and sees thst as an asset to defending from the front. Personally i would like to see velios paired with tomlinson for 30 mins at least.I think the ball would stay out of our hslf longer and we would have more of a goal threat.

Rutland I see what your saying.
But you can't have it always,Your happy with Karanka like a lot are,but not happy he picks Brereton?
He has decided Ben is his no 1 striker wether we like it or not.
My opinion is the way we play with two holding midfielders you don't get much opportunity to impress as a lone striker as it's feeding on scraps and you can put vellios there or Murphy and make no difference.
All Karanka is trying to do with Brereton up top is play a ball over the defence for him to run onto, but it's not happening.
He's not a bad player just being made to look bad like all our strikers will playing in this system.

karanka should just play to his strengths and play him out wide.brereton looks like he’s playing as a winger in his head not knowing weather to pass it or shoot,he had opportunities to pass or shoot yesterday and made the wrong decision.if he had only been playing up top all season he wouldn’t be lacking in confidence and would be making the right decisions.
