Pretty much a 5 or 6 out of 10 performance from the whole side really. Always going to be a massive task going down after 30 seconds.

Had a lot of the ball but didn't really do much with it to be honest.
Vellios and Mckay both given starts but were perhaps our two worst performing players having both missed half decent opporunities.

Milwall were no question the better side and throughly deserved the win and are just outside the play offs now.

I think the manager may use the remaining games to have one last look at his playing staff though I am pretty sure he knows who he wants and who he doesnt.

This will not be the last game of the season which highlights our glaring lack of a potent strike force but I am afraid we will have to bite the bullet on that one until the summer .

Even with the addition of one or two proven strikers the team will have to find ways of playing and providing whoever they sign with the chances to score.

A big task no doubt but I have some confidence that Mr Karanka ,given the tools, can have us up for the challenge.

Bring on Barnsley and as always

I wasn't at the game as i was delivering in the West country, just dipping in and out on Sky text but it seems we were pressuring them for long periods of time and it was not just Mckay and Vellios who missed chances so did Cash and Darwika and Tobias (not going to try and spell his name😁😁) i think if we get a couple of strikers AK will sort out the supply to them,i may be in the minority but i think Vellios should be given a few more games until the end of the season then assess him he needs a bit of a run 😈

Skegsjay, what chances has Vellios had other than a few minutes here and there under the Burntbread man AK,i have said it before he needs a good run in the side, as for the willing to please puppy (runs a lot snaps at people's ankles and falls over Brereton) he can stay on the bench or be sold or loaned out, if we are going to challenge next season we need strikers who are genuine goal machines 😈

The Vellios situation does seem to divide opinion on here and has done for a little while.
My tuppence worth would be to give him a run of a few games and see how he goes. I accept he hasn't torn up the record books scoring wise but a fair few of his 30 odd appearances have been as sub and some of the time only for a short period of time.

At the end of the day its not as if Murphy and Brereton having been banging goals in either so he's not keeping an in form striker out the side.

At 6 feet 4 he might just add to our tally of two headed goals this season :)

Putting McKay in against one of the most aggressive teams in the league may just have sealed his fate and a one way ticket back to Scotland?
If we are going to be contenders he needs to be able to rise to the challenge!

Idle. Like playing with 10 men.
