Might not go down well.

But I personally think we are missing Osborn further up the pitch. He's been by far our most creative player the last few seasons and I'm not sold on him at LB. rather play Eric there!

The thing with Osborn is, yes he's hard working, puts in a shift most games and does try, but he lacks the finesse of having the killer pass, goal threat, or being an attacking player. Putting him higher up the pitch, not sure anything would change. McKay on the other hand I could see in the space behind the forward. Has pace, has a good pass, and will shoot. Eric at left back is a none starter for me. That just hasn't worked ever.

Is that why Benny had one of the highest assist rates in the Championship last year then? He can create and score if he's used properly. Brentford and other teams are deliberately playing down his side of the pitch because he is not a strong left back, but Eric can do the job much better. McKay is too weak, gets shoved off the ball easily, and doesn't get back to tackle and support the midfield.I'd rather take the risk on Eric than not.

It's been another inconsistent season and Osborn has played most games, and has generally put a shift in, I don't think LB is his ideal place, playing him left side midfield is probably his best position,
Reading about all the negativity about the Manager isn't going to do the team any favours, going on about MW and we should have stuck with him, I'm sorry but I saw from the stands was a manager who didn't have a plan B, and he lost a lot of the players backing by isolating players, if we had kept him I believe we would have been in the bottom three. Some may disagree and Karanka is doing a worse job, but the players at the time in January were MW players, have those players that were moved on done any better, Er no, Karanka brought in a lot of players, to stop the slide, A win on Saturday will confirm our safety, and maybe it's a tactic to get some of these loan players on the cheap? I trust Karanka to assemble a team that can challenge for promotion, not a light wait team which we had under MW. And yes sometimes the football won't be pretty, but what's it been now 20 years when we last saw the reds in the top flight, growing up Forest were in the top six in the country.
Let's all get behind the boys on Saturday.

Forget top flight i would be happy with being competitive and consistent in this league. Battling for a top 6 finish and a settled club would do going forward. Their are not many sean dyche's around this era. The big money prem and its premadonas can wait a bit longer. let's get the club competitive and respected once again. Then maybe we can dream!!!!

That's for a holding midfielder that doesn't even play for them anymore
He ain't anywhere near that good.
World's gone mad especially the football world.

Bsred, yep I fully accept Osborn's stat record as providing the most assists etc. I'm not knocking him either, I think he is a good player as well. However, he just doesn't have the skill set of say Tomlin for example that would back an argument to play him as an attacking midfielder. You say he has goals in him, but I don't think he has. He'd rather go sideways and pass than take a shot. McKay, I agree is lightweight, but is a much more direct player, and will shoot. We are so desperate for goals now, and Mckay would be a nuisance playing in that area, and likely to draw in the fouls. As for Eric, he's just an average right back, but a terrible left back. We just given the opposition an even easier day, and he gets targeted as it's an obvious weak point.

He can run faster than tomlin and keep up with the forward and run beyond the forward though?

Agree Murdoch on McKay,I'd love to see him given a free role.
The boy has a great talent but is lightweight.
What better time to play him there when Karanka plays two enforcers in midfield to protect him?

Yes, I agree with you FF79 on Benny. The comparison with Tomlin was more he has the little flick ons, passing range, and not afraid to have a shot. With Benny, to me he almost has the defenders mind set when getting into attacking areas, and will look to pass or go to the corner, rather than running at the defence and be menacing! I agree with McKay also. We don't have any creativity or pace, I think he would cause problems given that free role behind the forward.
