Very much an " end of term " feeling around the WFCG last night against a pretty poor Barnsley side but you can only play against the opposition in front of you.
We completely dominated the first half with Tomlin being at the centre of everything offensive and capped it off with a superb goal.
Brererton took his goal very well indeed and should dwell on that today because it showed what he is capable of notwithstanding some poor defending.

An awful shame for Fuentes who in his brief time on the pitch did not look out of place and one casn only hope he recovers quickly and well wherever he finds himself.

I expected more of the same second half but was a littlle surprised at the lack of urgency and we seemed to take our foot off the pedal but a 3 nil victory cannot be sneezed at.

On the negative side I felt Guedioura had a below average game again and he seems to be trying too hard at times .

Lets hope a full pre season can improve him.

Two games to go of what has once again been a very disappointing season and I am dreading the close season with no football as usual but let's hope we are back bigger and better in August.

As always.

Ps The world cup doesn't count to me. International football zzzzzzzzzzz.
Wont watch a minute of it :)

Thought we looked a better team without colback creepy?
He doesn't do much wrong neat and tidy simple pass, but no urgency in his play,Can see why Benitez wants rid,Not quick enough for the prem.
We get leggy in second halves, but Lolly changed that, what a dribble taking out four men like that.
Shows we were right to let pinilos go,cash ran him ragged.
First game I've enjoyed for a while some more of that on Saturday against better opposition and I'll be happy.

Spot on with that assessment Forest79. Think Bridcutt is under rated and does a better all round job than Colback as he can get forward and presses higher up the pitch. Would not break the bank for Colback when we have as good here already and would rather use the cash for a couple of decent strikers. Thought Mancienne and Fox looked ok but were well protected by the midfield. Agree with Creepy re Guedioura- he is trying too hard and wants to score the wonder goals when he was here (and largely carrying us) last time. Needs to calm down a bit and keep it simple. An enjoyable night all round bar wins for the sheep and scousers

I agree f79. Was at Fulham for Colbacks first game and he looked a cut above and carried on pretty well in the same manner for a while.
I think the problem is he is a loan player on huge wages coming towards the end of the season and has no real attachment to us so will understandably be wary of getting injured either for his summer holidays ( which I doubt will be Skeggy as lovely as it is ) or for any prospective move.
His wage demands will I think prove too much for us going forward next season.

For my money Cash has been our most improved player this season and is one of the few who appears to wear his tree shaped heart on his sleeve ( metaphorically speaking that is ).

Once more .

Cash has been very unlucky with injuries when he's just been looking the part.
Was going great preseason till the last game and out for the start of the season.
