Joe Lolley has just tweeted this

How can you risk EVERYTHING on a promotion. Success isn't always built on expenditure and even ignoring that, at least **ckng plan for worst case scenario. Staff/ fans don't deserve this.

Aimed at villa, let's just remember this and hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

Regarding no22 poster about transfer fees, are the two benfica players really worth £15 and £20million or is that what we have to pay along with bigger wages for them to actually come to forest? i'd imagine if they were going to a prem club the fee would've far less in turn making there worth to us less to start with and even less if they are poor.

The worth of a player is entirely indicative of the wider market. If the prospective buyers are prepared to offer suitable remuneration to secure the services of a specific player and the vendors deem that remuneration to be acceptable then the deal will be done. This is symptomatic of the capitalist society in which we all exist. Simple.YOU REDS!

Have to agree Sutton.
To me it's just a gamble if any club goes out and tries to buy promotion.
Ok it worked for wolves, but itd failed at villa and Boro and that's with parachute payments to help them.
Dangerous game if it works it would be fully vindicated, fail and we'd be in dire trouble.
Even if you buy quality players it takes time to mould a team and time would be something we couldn't afford.

By the way. Was Trevor Francis WORTH it?

This is a risk and a very big one at that. I think if we’d have seen better fortunes from Jan many would be more confident. I think it’s a nervousness around backing AK to this degree becuase to be fair many fans aren’t convinced .
What I will say what does this club have to do to get fans in side . Win the league by a mile, with academy players and gems from league one playing champagne football. I totally get the concern, but seriously, we must the most awkward fans in the country.

Sgetty, was Ian Wallace worth it.

So explain to me how you would plan things as a manager and owner what your saying his build a team and take time bring youngsters through and spend as little as possible the thing is most of the fans weren't happy with that now there spending big people are still moaning a lot of you are saying karanka is the man to get us up he just needs is own players well now he's getting them and now you all seem to be getting worried he can't do the job do I have faith in karanka no but if it don't work out he will be replaced simples do I have faith in the owner yes he's done it at Olympicas for many years he and his team know what there doing so let them get on with doing there job which is to get us back in the premier league that is the job of every owner.

Problem is skeggs if Karanka fails then along comes another manager who won't want his players and there won't be any money to do this,so the next manager would have his hands tied and have make do.
Personally don't think we'll spend 50 mill unless we get back 20 mill in sales, which would meen Worrall and Osborn leaving.
Then a case of getting rid of the Greek players plus traore Murphy grant Henderson Cummings McKay Bridcutt clough walker Eric.
That might prove quite difficult to do?
So if we go for it fair enough, but the reality is,we can't afford for Karanka to fail, otherwise we'll find it very hard to bounce back.
Just saying

We have to have faith that AK will pick the right players for us at the right time. That is what managing is all about. According to latest reports 19 out of 24 clubs in the Championship are in trouble with finances so some may be caught in the FFP trap - again we expect our Owner/Management to build up the club to avoid this, so hopefully they know not to overspend on Transfer fees and wages.

Sgetty Andre Silenzi definitely was worth it!!! 😂😂😂

Saying he’s done it in the Greek league is a little misleading especially when things can be bought,I don’t just mean players either.theres ways of getting promoted without spending massive amounts of money.im not concerned of weather karanka is the right man I’m more concerned about how quick the owner will pull the trigger if we have a bad run which most clubs will.thenthe next man will come in and it will starat over.i don’t think putting loads of money in now is the answer over a couple of years yes but not in one transfer window.
That’s my opinion
What I won’t be is one of those fans loving spending all this money then if it goes tits up moan about the owner putting us in the poo

Well here's hoping ff79 mate but if he can't do it with the players who we are supposing to be bringing in then he's not as good as some make out and do we want another manager that can't do the job just saying to be honest with the backing think he has more chance than a few managers we've had in the past.

Lol Sutton your not so convinced on karanka being the ☝now are you we've been through the mill for years now so why not go for it coyrs.

I would if we weren’t going over the top with the reported fees we are going to pay.it happened at derby and I said from day one it will come back to haunt them because it will divide the group.dont matter who is manager the lesser earners will get peed off with earning less and it will cause a division.this is what has happened at derby, they had a group that would fight for each other but then they started spending and the gap in wages will of caused players to have the can’t be bothered attitude.whats it like in your work when someone finds out another person who does the same job is on more money?ppl get the hump.

Am totally fed up with people carping on about risk with all its pitfalls and alleged ramifications! The gaffer would not even consider it if he thought that it was too great a risk! Back him for crying out loud!! YOU REDS!!!!!!!💪

07 Jun 2018 18:26:36
Sgetty, off course the manager would not bring in any player he thought were too big a risk but no matter what anyone's opinion on a player whether or not they know anything about them they will be cheering them on if they join us, and rightly so.
Every manager, including the best make mistakes in the transfer market nobody is infallible.
What i do not understand though is no one has said if the Portuguese player signs it is all doom and gloom yet some are so excited they feel others should not question the amount suggested as being excessive. If the club do spend big no one will be wanting us to fail.

Waac the manager isn't the gaffer.
The gaffer is Greek.
It will be his investment that suffers if the big money signings don't work.
AK is an employee. If he is given the chance of spending shed loads of course he will do it.
Who wouldn't?

17.) 08 Jun 2018
08 Jun 2018 07:25:34
Gazzibaldi, you are right every manager would love to have big money to spend, and yes it is the Greeks investment, but i always remember the players use to call Brian Clough gaffer, so that is why i made the mistake.
