Well its said that the final cost of Joao Carvalho will be around £15m. I personally feel fair play to NF for showing its ambition and is willing to pay that price. Some people on here will say its far to much money to pay on a untried player from Portugal but they might of forgot that in 2003 that Man Utd payed £12.5m for an unknown lads called Ronaldo who happens to turn out to be a relatively good player (lol). It does not matter which division your in as long as your ambition is right up there and is willing to put your money where your mouth is which our new owner is willing to do. COYRs

Difference is man Utd can afford to gamble.
They've also bought some very expensive duds.
This kid needs to be good and hit the ground running,we can't afford a 13 million player to flop.

I don't think it matters how big a team you are losing £12m would hurt anyone especially 15 years ago when £12m was a bloody lot of money because you could definitely get more for your money then. Yes we could keep buying journeymen for £1-2 million and hope to god we get promoted but at some point you need to grow a pair and take a risk and if the owner thinks we have the right manager then fair play to him for backing him with this kind of money.

Neves and Costa were similar price las year and Boly on loan with an option to buy which Wolves have took up.

If we do same with same result then we will all be quite happy!!,

North Notts we'd be delirious.
But they've done it with a very attacking approach,I don't see Karanka doing that??

I am very excited by Portuguese players if they do sign and is a huge message of intent. I have been researching them and they are boiling hot property and it is blowing my mind that they look likely to sign for us!
Calveho is the hottest midfielder in Portugal and one of top under 21 players in Europe, he reminds me of Joe Cole at times but gets up and down more like Paul Scholes and his touch and pass are that good from what I have seen but I am actually more excited about Goncalves, they call him New Luis Figo and for good reason! My only concern would be if they cope with the physicality of the championship.
