I would like to know what contract offers Hutton has been offered other than by Forest, if other clubs have only offered him a one year contract and we have offered him a two year contract as a incentive for joining us then is his heart really in it. I thought the manager said he only wants players who want to play for Forest, for me giving a player a length of contract that nobody else will is desperation by the club, and nothing but greed by the player. Hutton may be good player is he joining for the right reasons.

I don't think we will pay extortionate amounts.

Apparently he was prepared to take a drop in wages to stay at Villa and Bruce wanted him to stay. He was told to offload him nonetheless!

Other than money when a player gets to his thirties,it's just a final good earner,no point asking if their heart is in it,they know it's just a short term arrangement all around.
All you can hope is they are professional and try their best???

WAAC thing is mate Hutton is a pro footballer of course he’s going to look for the best deal he can get for himself and his family he ain’t just going to come back here for the thrill of pulling the red shirt on again ,what would you do in his situation?

Stevie f, it all depends on how you look at it, there have been players in the Premiership that have been offered a chance to earn mega money in both America and China but have settled to stay in England earning superb money but nothing compared to America and China. There have been players that have earned their money throughout their career's then ended their career with their boyhood club, other players have just looked to wring every monetary coin they can till the last. To answer your question, it would depend on well I looked after my earnings during my career.

Why do fans think players are greedy for negotiating the best deals they can for themselves. It’s their job , their not playing for a pub team for fun.
Who cares what other clubs offered him.
If we want him and we need him you have to do what it takes to get him

Polskared, our manager may want him but we do not need him, in order to need him that suggests he is all that is available for that position with his skill set, i doubt that very much. You do realise you are saying a club should give in to a players demands whatever they are, a club should never do that in my opinion, there are always other options.

Not saying give in to demands of players at all.
Read the comments again.
To do what you need to do means, negotiate a salary and fees
Then decide , but at least try

Stevie f I don't think that you can expect Waac to answer objectively as he's been a Garibaldi all his life.

WAAC Hutton ain’t Rooney,Lampard or Beckham,I would be majorly surprised if he got a mega offer from the USA or China think you will find he will end up taking the best offer on the table from a lower end prem or championship club mate but I take your point and realise you were talking theoretically
