There should be no rash decisions regarding players ie I expect the two Portuguese players to have been watched since the beginning of last season before a significant financial outlay. So AK will already have earmarked any other players he thinks we need. No club with the risks of outplaying such huge sums of money will do otherwise. As an example Marriott will have been watched as potentially Grabbon Bamford and several more. Bids could have been made eg 3m for Marriott but been rejected and like any bargaining waiting to see what happens next. If Mariott truly was the next Britt then we would have bid more the sum they want. We can assume therefore he is not the wonder striker Fry thinks he is! Or not at 7 m. So others are being looked at I am sure. I do not think AK will settle for second best but also knows we need potentially two strikers and of course we also have to shed half a dozen. So we may put names forward but I am sure AK knows what he is doing.

S r85, Fry said Forest have not made a bid for Marriott but has also said Marriott's agent has spoken to the club, our manager has spoken to their manager, and our sporting director has talked to them about Marriott. Off course if he were our first choice a bid would have been put in by now.

Fry is a comedian. He has been hawking his centre forward to every club he thinks can afford to bid. No-one will pay the quoted price. He is under contract and his price will rise if he gets more goals next year. The player has his preferences but the irony is that unless he is cheap Forest are really interested in Maddison instead!
