Southgate almost lost us the game by bring on another defensive minded player in dier. We were playing better when we was attacking them he tried to shut the game out to early which allowed them to gain confidence and momentum

After we lost to belgium I said on here that it was the perfect result and got shot down for it- well now we have sweden instead of brazil in the quater finals and a good chance of actually reaching the final.

Oakhamred, i do not understand where you are coming from. What difference does it make whether you get Brazil in the quarter finals, or in the final. If you want to win the World Cup you have to beat whoever you get put against. If you are afraid of facing a particular team then you have lost before you have kicked a ball.

The point is we would have to play Brazil then France or Uruguay then likely Belgium whereas now Weill only have to play 1 of them if we get to the final

Scouse not having a go at dier just saying the set up changed and allowed them to get on the front foot more easily this closing the game down more often than not backfires I believe you should carry on playing the way that got you in the winning position in the 1st place
