considering the u-23`s done very well last season surely some of these players could step up, doesn`t sound that any of them have a chance and will just eventually go down too lower leagues seems unfair really.

I think quite a few will step up, but not into the starting XI. It’s a physical league, and you only have to look at Brereton to see how being a beast in the U-23’s doesn’t guarantee you the same freedom in the Championship.

Ahmedhodzic, Edser, Bossin, Gabriel, Gomis & Appiah will all be considered active players this season, but with people ahead of them in the pecking order, so could end up out on loan to gain league experience. I’m sure one or two others too.

Johnson, Mighten, Coveney, Preston will probably need more time as they’re still developing.

I reckon Iacovitti, Grant & Yates will go out on loan. Always liked Iacovitti, but I think he’s about out of chances now - wouldn’t be surprised if he moved on.

Irish Red. We certainly seem to have depth in the squad and considering the versatility of some of the players we have cover for every area of the pitch. We also have a good blend of youth and experience and as you point out more than one leader .I am more optimistic about the coming season than I have been for many years but obviously don't expect miracles to happen over night.Bye the way your post was comprehensive to say the least. Clearly knowledgeable regarding he Garibaldis. Are you party to inside information?
