Sly sports have selected 6 championship players to look out for during the season. One of them is Ben Brereton. Ff799?

I think Ben will prove a lot 9f the doubters wrong this season.
Those who wanted him out on loan to a league one club don't realise how good he will be.
Karanka rates him and he was never going anywhere.

Agreed

Pity that because it would have done him the world of good for half season. What surprises me most on here is how wanting him to go on loan to score a bagful and develop is reframed as being on his back. The probably won’t start loads of games in the first half the season so why not loan him with a 24hr recall option. He did very little last season something which simply can’t be blamed on Mark Warburton, it proves he needs to play every week at a lower level. Burton Albion would be brilliant for him.

Disagree 2 star he won't learn playing kick and run football in league one.
Agree he'll probably be on the bench, but he'll make a great impact sub and will learn from grabban and soudani.
You need three good strikers in this league if your serious about promotion and that's what we have as it looks like Murphy's scoring days are over.

2star I totally blame Mark Warburton.Surely it was his job to give the lad direction and to play to his strengths.

Picking a position for him and keeping him there would be a start

Red James so true, i do not understand why managers swap and change any players position regularly, let alone a young player still learning their position of choice. I can remember the players name but a ex spurs player once said his versatility killed his career in his proper position s he never really got to play in that position because of his versatility.

No no no a good player should be versatile also when warbo played him in and out of position its was to try and cover the crap he inhereted for me he will be a very good player but if he's not going to be starting most games then he should go out on loan to start with to get plenty of game time anyway the chosen one has faith so should we 10-15

I think a few of last seasons crop will surprise us this season. With little or no competition for places, they became complacent. No room for that now, it's give 110% every day otherwise you're out.

Being honest, I think we are still a little light in the striker department. Grabban would be first choice for me, but if he gets injured, there is a problem straight away. Murphy is done, age has caught up with him, and is just not effective. Soudani, I'm afraid I'm just not as convinced as some of you are about him. I don't think he will make double figures, but will be delighted to be proved wrong. Then we are back to Ben, a capable player, but still one for the future for me, and not ready to shoulder the burden of scoring all the goals. We are relying on Grabban to play most games here in my opinion.

Skegsjay so you're saying that a player who is not versatile is not a good player?

No sgetty I'm saying it makes you a better player

Murdoch i have to disagree. Murphy will unlikely be a regular but if he has finished grieving he will be useful as a battering ram and holding up the ball to bring others into play. We now have players with creativity that can also chip in with a fair few goals in midfield, Brereton will benefit from that. Soudani looks a powerhouse with speed, and a eye for goal how can that be a bad thing. Grabban and Soudani came quite late so it might be a while to see the best of them. Potentially we have the best team for many a year.

Soudani will hit 20 plus this season defences will be running scared best forwad line up I've seen at forest for a long time

There will be more goals than we have seen for many a year and they will come from all areas of the pitch.

Off course you are right Sgetty, Osborn and Darikwa have scored from their defensive roles in pre season aswell as Dias from midfield, and Grabban from up front.

We will find out how good Brereton is this season in a team that will be well balanced and create chances for all the strikers to perform.

He should be judged on last season where the strikersmainly had a thankless task!

Staggs, I definitely don't agree with you about Murphy. He's had one good season in his whole career! His best season now well behind him, and looks well out of place in the team. With Soudani, I know nobody likes youtube, but I have seen his best of goals, and a lot of them were just farcical against poor opposition. The championship is a much higher standard, so I think he will struggle. I hope I'm wrong of course, and would love it if he smashed them in!
