Early days but the signs are good. Guediora outstanding, Carvalho one to watch. Defence looked ok to me but we showed no fire-power in front of goal, Grabban not up to it yet. A pleasing performance with lots of energy and we controlled a lot of the game, but 10 games or so in and we will know more. To be honest either side could have snatched it, but unless we score more goals in a game, one will never be enough.

The Portuguese lads looked great but so did McKay when the sun was out, will they be as tenacious on a cold night in February. I’m remaining open minded but personally didn’t see enough improvement last night to conclude we will be challenging the top six

I get what 2 star means here. There is definet improvement on last year, but he doesn't think we are a top 6 side yet. That's fair comment I feel. We did have moments last night where we looked fragile at the back. Also, not being clinical with goals when well on top. It's very early days, and all this could come on as we get going. Against weaker teams, we may well run riot with a performance of that level.
