I understand the game is about opinions but why does Carvalho get in everyone’s preferred team? He’s done NOTHING to shout about. It seems we all want to believe he’s the next superstar because we’ve paid so much for him. It reminds me of when we won’t accept an academy prospect isn’t going to be what we hoped they’d be. Some kind of blind faith? Sorry all but right now he’s done nothing to suggest he’s any better than what we already had.

Think he was bought as a sweetener so mendes would bring more players here

Somethings not right Skeg, if a player is worth 13 million he should surely show his quality in the championship quickly if they are good enough. From what I’ve seem , which is every home game and Bristol away I just can’t see it mate

Awful in a word 2star. Weak, lacks direction, no clue as to put other players in. Totally underwhelmed by him and the other two 7mil for Grabon 13.5mil for carvalaho unbelievable. Try getting 500k for him now and you would find few takers!

I know it’s early days yet and things take time but it was sold to us we were getting one of the hottest young prospects in Portuguese football, if that is so we should surely be seeing some evidence of his talents here and there . Ben Osborn would be better there yet finds himself in and out of the team, this is all very frustrating.

You can't judge calvahalo playing karankas system as it makes him or anyone else look bad playing the number ten same as every striker looks bad in his system.
You won't find out how good calvahalo or grabban is until he stops playing two holding midfielders or we have a new manager.
It's as simple as that.
I'm going on Saturday and I know the formation, just don't know the players he'll pick.
If he leaves out cash again then he'll get what deserves in critism.
If he sits back which I fully expect from him we will get stuffed,

2star you state it as if every other player is shining, perhaps he reads the game a bit quicker than the other players. Get a settled side and he might just form a understanding with his team mates.

79 he needs to go 4-4-2 and attack we have the pace and we certainly have goals in this team all over the pitch if we leak 3 goals so what we can score 4 the potential is there in the team now they need unleashing if he keeps going defensive he deserves everything that will be coming to him his p45 and no chance of another job just like the rest of our managers of the. Past so let's get this bloody project finished

Skeggs leaking two is par for the course, doesn't matter if it's 442 or 451 or 433 they are all better systems, you get what you deserve from 4 2 3 1,not alot.
Unless you have a great goalkeeper and a solid back four it's got failure written all over it.
I'm going to have a good day out with the lads whatever the score.

I really want Cahvallo to succeed and its still early days but he's shown very little so far and it has to be said that at this moment in time it looks like Tomlin would have been a better option for that role.

I can’t believe some of you are slagging carvalho off saying he’s not good enough. If anything he’s been one of our better players from an attacking sense bar Lolley and cash. I think he’s done fairly well considering it’s a complete new league and lifestyle.
Were people seriously expecting him to be as good as neves at wolves? Because if you were then oh dear. The difference is neves was playing regularly for Porto whereas carvalho was more of a fringe player. But imo he’s looked fairly decent so far. If he hasn’t started adding more gold and assists to his game in a months time then yeah I would consider him to be a waste of money. But reserve that judgment for a bit.
Fickle fans theses days *sigh*

Calvahalo gets into the Portuguese under 21s. He would have come with a very high recommendation and great potential. He should play every week, even in the under 23s if necessary but should be in the first team ideally . He will come good as those who are in charge of our club know more about football than anyone on this site. No one would pay this amount of money for a single player without a darn good reason. You watch like the wolves player the premier league clubs will pay a fortune for him next season. He needs to settle get used to Nottingham and the same with his colleagues. The best person to judge is AK so let’s wait and see and support this player to make him welcome

Ff-You have to judge him under karanks leadership , he signed him and he is picking the sides - you can’t judge him any other way??

But did he 2 tone?
Marinakis signed up to Mendes and we paid 13 mill for him, we sign two others on loan with a view to buy?
Karanka is no stranger to this,Madrid do it as do most top clubs, here's the players, you coach them?
Thing is here it's a bit of both, money has gone on one player.
But then karanka gets to chose who he brings in to supplement him.
He gets his wish and blows it all on grabban, money gone again.
Then we sign umpteen freebies, some good some not so good, then top it up with loans?
He actually had a better option of just adding a few to the squad we had and dispersing with a few than what he's actually done,at great expense?
Bottom line is we have 28 players in first team squad that is not sustainable financially and a manager that can't make his mind up of what his his best starting eleven.
It's a mess to be honest.

Any player under krankie at the moment isn’t up to standard.
Imagine the vibe at the club with all players vying to get a game.
It must be very tense in the changing and when they train.
In order to have a flowing team firstly you need the best players then you need those players to know those around you.
It’s like a family, everyone knows what’s what and how the game will flow be it attacking defending etc.
But rotation of the squad as we can see does not work.
Personally I think behind the scenes players don’t want to play into his ideas.
It must be knocking the confidence out them.
As ff stated with an oversized team the financial side ie wages must be staggering.
Something will give,he’s had ample opportunity and the cash injection to find a squad capable of playing good football but krankies mindset on he want the team to play shall be his downfall.

With the expectation at the club 13 million should not have been spent on a player who needs time to acclimatise, I’m afraid that’s a pass time for clubs like Liverpool and Man U erc. We brought expecting him to influence games immediately. No way we spent that kind of money accepting he’d be one for the future. That 13million was the majority of our budget. at the moment it’s a questionable decision at best

Plain fact is carvallhio gives the ball away too often I said so on here after the West Brom game and got a bit of stick, think he won’t last the season here, hope the lad proves me wrong

We aren't paying 13 million upfront. we are paying 13 million over his 5 year contract. If I remember rightly we pay nothing this year too.

13 million isn't even a lot anymore. We have fallen behind the times.Sounds about right to me for a Portugal under 21 regular. He will show his worth in time.

You say he plays for Portugal under 21's, so what! Brereton is a successful proven England under 21 player and Karanka is happy to let him go.
