There have been so many false dawns since our exodus from the PL 20 years ago ,our trip to Lancashire today could give an indication where we are heading now .
What have been the reasons for our long exile, owners ,some very strange managerial appointments ,bad signings ,signings who managers have failed to get anything out of despite being talented ,s
constantly selling our young players ?
So surprisingly the fans have remained so loyal we deserve much better where as when relegated in the 70,s attendances really plummeted despite football being relatively much cheaper then ,yes for the Forest fans pay back time can,t come quick enough !

Carlo, in 20 years we’ve sold Bamford, darlow, lascelles, burke and Brereton. Let’s be honest that’s hardly a constant and in some cases it’s been essential business to keep the club afloat. Darlow and lascelles funded a spending spree for the likes of assmobalonga, Antonio and fryatt with the two loaned back For the season on the face of it a very good concept. Lascelles hardly played for us that season and the rest were injured - season ruined. No single entity was to blame in 14/15 - many things conspired against us which led to three forgettable seasons. Our academy is a good thing but it’s not the answer to our failings in the last 20 years mate. I think you’re living in the past a little bit on this one.

Your memory as let you down ,Reid Dawson ,Morgan Perch ,Harewood Pruton , Jenas , Wiliams and others and Assoombalonga ,Antonio were soon sold ,let's face it we are a selling club and much of the incoming cash as been wasted on vastly inferior players ,a big reason we been unable to get back.

Agree with your first post Carlo regarding false dawn's but for me this only lasted for the first few seasons after relegation. Since then nothing to really get excited about.
You get a sense when a new manager is being appointed and for me most of them have been panic appointments.

I now hope that we have at last turned the corner and a new dawn is on the horizon. Am I nervous yes because it's been a shakey start but looks as if we now have a defence that is solid and that to me if nothing else is good progress.
Here's hoping as we have waited long enough.

It has let me down there. Apologies you’re right, and the sale of those guys was very bad for the club at the time.

Selling Campbell was one of the worst decisions the club ever made,we had turned a corner and had a fantastic strike force with him and van hoojdonk and the cockney barrow boy sold him behind Bassett back, never understood that decision and glad that theiving scholar has not been back to these shores to ruin another club.
Rant over.
