Dowell has complained not being happy on Everton's bench, i feel he did not work hard enough but was good going at the opposition.

Is he better than any of our regular playing staff?

He did well, though he did fade towards the end of the season.

Gave the ball away too much.

Didn’t have the solid base we got now he would add going forward but doubt Ak would be interested

Thing is bsered as with your comment previously regarding Guedioura giving the ball away, unless you have a midfield of Watson's and Colback's who stick to the 5 yard sideways pass you will give the ball away more if your trying through balls or 40 yard diagonals to try and create scoring opportunities.Someone has to be good enough and brave enough to try and make things happen. If they come off you look great if they don't you look bang average.

If you are a midfielder you have to be able to pick a good pass, but also defend your own space, tackle back, and not keep gifting the opposition possession. "Making things happen" by taking risks is too often a cover up for poor play.

Carvalho has already played in more killer passes than Dowell did although he has a better eye for goal.
I'd be interested in knowing which better creative Number 10 we have had at Forest in recent years as other than a half season from Majewski I'm struggling to think of anyone that gets close to Carvalho?

In reply to the original post. Carvalho is and will be far better than Dowell. In my humble opinion,of course.

No Thanks, too lazy, never tracked back or defend, would you play him instead of Carvalho, I think not.

Lol Carvalho can’t remember the last time we was close to paying 13 million plus for a number 10 can you redinexile is he proving he’s worth 13 million no where near he has a long way to go so I will be holding on to the praises at will change them when I think he’s worth 13 million

Tomlin end of. Scored more in less, stronger, sees the possible not the impossible, rarely missed the target.

I must admitt to looking forward to seeing carvalaho develop into the player a lot on here think he is or will be. He is improving but a lot of game time wasted on him. Fortunately the better teams have come back to us and we are now well placed. With the new entre forward ansafared it could be exciting times ahead and if carvalaho blossoms then happy days.

Rutland you say a lot of game time wasted yet in the same sentence say he is improving.so that game time isn’t wasted as it has helped him improve and helping him get to grips with the championship.

I'd like Dowell back, he blew hot and cold but that's pretty much what we're getting with Carvalho at the moment.

If we could bring KD back on loan in January til the end of the season I think he'd give us a great option to battle JC for the No10 role.

Some on here being blinded by the price tag, if one of our acadamy lads were getting his game time and performing like him my guess is most would be saying he’s not quite ready but because he’s cost 13mill + people are seeing stuff that ain’t there

Off course the price tag is a big factor in people's assessment of him, the more a player costs the closer to the finished article you expect them to be. Look how good Britt A was for half the money.

PP it’s easier to assess a striker his progress is measured in goals about this stage of last season dowell was being more effective than carvallhio is now

The way i see it strikers are judged on goals scored, mostly as that is their main task after all but in Carvalho's case he will be judged based on effective runs, passes reaching their target, and how many tackles won.

I see your point though.

Tomlin was better than both of them. He also had the ability and strength to hold the ball up which allowed other players to get forward and support.

Tomlin will be here in Jan as cover,no one else can play ten if calvahalo gets injured, soudani was a mistake and not good enough.
