AK has said that it was nothing personal on Saturday, but won't say any more than that. I hope he's a bit happier now, but it's hard to tell to be honest. Aitor give us a smile. Aitor Aitor give us a smile.

The new director of football has been said to have a say in team selection at our owners other club, a say in players joining the club, and a lot of other roles within the other club as well.
If that is true and the same goes at Forest that might be why the manager has not been happy, or should i say, even less happy than normal. 😊

I feel for AK. He has done well; let's hope Marinakis interference doesn't see a drop in form. I see no need for a DoF whilst we are doing so well on the pitch.

A DOF is only meant to be in charge of the recruitment and integration aspects side of the club. He’s like a buffer between the Manager and Chairman and Organises the scouting team whilst working on budgets and other things like feeder clubs. I’m hoping that we get a bit more involved in the community. I’m not sure if they still do them but 20 years ago they had coaching days for kids around 10 to attend and learn, I was already a forest fan back then but know a few more of my friends took up the Garibaldi after those sessions. Personally I think it’d be great for everyone involved. Improves our reputation and also increases the likelihood of attendance and could allow us to spot the next big player.

Floresta, I might be wrong but years ago i thought some dof became manger at Portsmouth, and others ever since from time to time.

A DOF is meant to be more of a scout/director of recruitment ideally they work with the coach to bring in players to suit style and personality. They aren’t usually anything to do with the managing aspect though they do offer suggestions of players.

Floresta, Ah i made the mistake of not taking in the word meant, in which case you could be right.
The truth though is managers over the years have complained of dof's or a similar such role have got in their way in them doing their job as they would like, and sometimes they have replaced the manager once he has been sacked.
Could you tell me is it a dof i'm thinking about or another role within a club that i'm been thinking of?

Modern day football has changed.
Neil Warnock turned us down for not having a dof
It's a team effort, the coach tells the dof what he needs and who he'd like and then can concentrate on the games, you can't run a club without one nowadays if you want to be succesfull
