Before I get shot down. MON is the manager and he will always have my support all the time he is in the job but.
At 66 years old I feel we have got him 10 years too late, also love Keane, an absolute belting player but his approach does not sit well with the modern footballer. you only have to look at his later days at Sunderland, Ipswich and more recently with Ireland. People will no doubt say "that's what the team needs"but I disagree. it will end in tears. I for one, cannot honestly say than MON is an upgrade on AK but I pray that I am proved wrong. COYR.

You are right about Keane: Brilliant when he was with us but deranged with Ferguson!. A bit cynical of me, but if he joins O'Neil it will shorten his tenure at the City Ground.(These tend not to be very long anyway).

Age and experience do count, but so does being able to motivate players and getting the right balance in the team - I can't see any manager being better than MON at these things, and he is obviously up for the challenge. AK never ever seemed to get very excited by much, probably because he is that type of bloke, MON can show more emotion but also combines it with Reason.
This will probably be EM's last throw of the dice, and if it fails he'll walk away, so there is a lot riding on this appointment. Let's just hope he realises it's a two-season job.

I think he's 62 East but totally get what you're saying. Maybe being at Forest will roll a few years back too.

Hopefully we'll have a manager for longer than 12 months for a change this time and hope that Martin brings the luck of the Irish with him.

I have to laugh at people slagging keanes managerial record he’s won just as many promotions as a manager as Ak who some on here regard as proven

I couldn’t care less if Keane had won the World Cup as a manager-he’s a Richard and that’s the end of it, I’ll have to put that to one side though and I hope he does the job on the pitch and training ground for us.

I think MON is a motivator in the same bracket as Warnock, allardyce etc. I think he’s ok tactically - maybe not as astute as a more modern coach but should be good enough .

I agree 2tone. Am hoping M ON will keep him on a tight leash.

You can all say what you like about Keane but he’s been a winner all his career, perhaps some forest fans have forgotten what one of those looks like

One of the beauties of not living in the local goldfish bowl is you get a more rounded view of reality! Welcome Eastbourne to the "Exile Club" !

Most of the younger Forest fans have seen very few winners. At least us veterans have memories.

If you’d have seen the way he treated a forest fan when he came back with Ipswich you’d think differently Stevie - he’s an R’s

2tone you obviously had a bad experience with him so I can understand your position

I can put that behind me and give him my full support though, we all make mistakes and misjudge situations at times. New era (again) so let’s get 100% behind the club and hit the play offs!!
