Well after 3 years in lancashire exile i am back in the bussom of my beloved Rutland. So i can lay claim to Rutland Red with authority once more😃😃😃
I have no wifi in the house yet so am relying on the pub. Nice.
Looking at the situstion and in the light of Msrikinakis statement i am still not convinced we are pitching at the right level to secure promotion this season. We are going down the same route as the fsilures of the not so distant past. I really want to be positive but the squad is growing quickly again and is it the desired quality?
O'neil was on the right path but wecwill never know.

He knew the type of player required to fulfil the chsirmans desire this year. I fail to see how the manager can pick a team from this large seemingly average squad of bits and bobs yet again. Asking players to find new clubs is a cop out. Just get rid, pay off, put your big toe on the block and reduce the numbers to a managable level. Goals win you matches yet this department is being overlooked massively. The sort of striker thst gets you goals at this level is your Dwight Gales etc. Horrible individual but the likes of him and Jay Rodrigues do it for fun at this level. Jay has gone back to Burnley and when he came to the city ground you fould see his quality.

I really want the feel good factor to prevail this season but its roundabout again and we are falsely going to be elevated as promotion favourites again. You only have to look at the type of players villa, norwich and sheff United had last season to understand that a lot of home grown talent mixed with proven foreigners is the key. If we do not hit the ground running i fear for this new lot. Have the promised 6 come in yet to help lamouchi?

I totally agree with you Rutland couldn't and wouldn't put it better myself because it would of took ages to write lol marankis knows we need quality i.e championship premiership players 5 of to get us anywhere near top 6 this season so over to you prove you want us back in the premiership and stop talking like. mrs may.

Welcome back Rutland, looking forward to all the squashed flies on your car traveling around Rutland water . Lived in Stamford a few years back for a time what a beautiful area to live, must be closer to the city ground now .

Great summary Rutland. We are a team of bits and bobs and that comes from having a churn of managers constantly signing their own players. The bar must be lifted with the next few signing to bring some REAL quality to the team otherwise it will take a miracle to get out of this league this season. Goals are what we so desperately need and at the minute, the team simply doesn't have the talent to get them amount required. Gayle, Assombolonga etc. These are the signings we need.

Have I missed something about ffp being ditched? We all know what’s needed to get promotion-score goals don’t concede many, dead easy but nothing’s guaranteed and you cannot just keep spending, writing off huge amounts of money and go again. And unless I’ve missed something, paying contracts off does actually still mean paying contracts off and funnily enough costs money. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Mistakes constantly being made by numerous owners and managers and fans adding to it doesn’t bode well.

Manager and Owner both saying that they are looking to add quality additions to the team. Quality costs money, so they either have different opinions of what quality is or there has to be some money there to spend because freebies are more than often freebies for a reason and we can't keep delving in to that market.

I can’t wait for an owner or a manager to say they’re looking to add a few average players, a few older injury prone journey men and an extra physio to help deal with them 🤣.
