What's this "new way of playing" a few on here keep talking about? Please explain to us less knowledgable fans.

New way? Revert to old BC way. if you are in doubt as to what to do with the ball put it into opponents net. We can decide later whether you were right or wrong.

Sooner we stop talking about Brian Clough the better.

Sooner all his former charges retire from football the better so we can stop harbouring silly hopes that they will come to the clubs rescue and put it back where it belongs.

Apart from an 18 year spell in its 150 year history it has belonged roughly where it is now and is where it naturally should be.

2star

The reason why some mention Brian Clough is that he set out his teams to play in a way that people on a whole liked to see, and referees were rare harassed to the degree we see today, in which i feel was first made common place in this country by Ferguson.

Surely there is nothing wrong with aspirations, you do not have to be a massive club to be a successful one, although it helps.

I agree with all you say.

My own view is it holds us back now and generates a behaviours in our fan base that creates a list of negative outcomes that is extensive and unhelpful to the club.
