We brought in a winger from a Premier League club, a winger from a Champions League club and a Serie A striker and because we didn't shell out £10 million on them they must be rubbish.
We must have offered Britt more money to stay. We must be offering Lansbury more money to stay. Why are none of these seen as reinvesting in the squad?
Fawaz never mentioned Rhodes or Nugent that was speculation in the media and on forums like this.
I am sorry but I would rather live within our means and not risk the financial future of the club on players I am not sure would even play if Assombalonga is fit.

Fully agree! We have a good squad, a good manager that seems to have been involved with the dealings this transfer window, and have some money in the bank if we need to buy next January. No one on this site knows how the manager will use the new signings in the squad let's get behind them all and do what good supporters do support!

Wisheyeddove

That is a very well put point of view, but Fawaz said all monies from the sale of Burke.

It was only after the window closed he said about it keeping the club out of another embargo.

Talk about manipulating the facts. The Premier League winger was playing in the Championship last year but wait that's okay because they went up so he must be pretty good. only he couldn't get in their team and was loaned out to 2 mid-table Championship where he didn't particularly impress plus he has a history of knee injuries so fits right in with our squad. The Serie A striker was out on loan to a Serie B side scored a whopping 7 goals in 30 odd appearances in a piss poor division (plus he's had about 8 clubs already and is only 24) . Meanwhile the Champions League winger has been loaned out to a relegated side then a mid-table team in the Portuguese league for the last 2 seasons. I understand the glass is half full mindset and what you've said isn't wrong, just missing out quite a bit of context don't you think? I hope they all do well and get us promoted but it's unlikely. None of these are safe bets or proven so if we end up doing okay this year it'll be in spite of Fawaz not because of him!

Guv1985. I agree with Herefortheforest you are spot on in your comments. The only thing I will add is in my opinion none of the 3 acquisitions are better than Ward who we have sent out to Burton! What you get from him ( when he is fit ) is 100% commitment. I could be be proved wrong, hopefully I am!

Hey guys, long time reader, 1st time poster. Dissapointed as everyone else but we have to give the new guys a chance. Trust the manager, he seems to have a plan. Remember Kevin Campbell? Carp til paired with Van hooijdonk. Harewood, poor till paired with David Johnson, then became a different player. Bryan Roy was brilliant with Collymore, hopeless with anyone else. Now I'm not saying any of the new guys are that good, but let's give them a chance, they may just click.

that says it all hftf, just goes to show what good or bad spin can do in those posts.

One thing is for sure they should be given a chance to show what they can do without writing them off first. let's not forget Cohen is back and is like having a new player, Perreria looks good going forwards, new keeper we haven't seen, Perquis looks ok. Cash is also breaking through and has looked good, I think there is more to be cheerful about than maybe we think.

We have attacking football, that is what everyone wanted:)

There's no such thing as a safe bet or proven. We have signed the likes of Gardner, McGoldrick, King., Holt. all allegedly top strikers with their previous clubs but couldn't do it for us before moving on to new clubs and score for fun.
Just saying you never know and that's where stats let you down.
If Preston, Ipswich, Watford and Norwich went by stats they wouldn't have signed these boys.
