Rangers were so far gone people forget it took them two attempts to make it out of the Scottish championship. During that time Celtic have amassed a huge gulf in quality over the rest of Scotland especially under a quality manager in recent appointment Rogers.

In my opinion Warburton done what was asked of him plus some as it's yet going to be some time before the financial repercussions of their recent downfall dissipate . To finish third this season is an achievement for them and had Warburton still been in charge think they still would have done just that possibly pipped Aberdeen for second come the end of the season . So think their fans are expecting too much too soon, hope ours just not as bad .

Can't agree owlbigred.

Yes, Celtic are very far ahead but Rangers support base, income generated and wages bill is massive compared to all other Scottish clubs (barring Celtic of course! ) . Their wages bill stands at £11m compared to Aberdeen's at under £2m, yet Aberdeen are ahead of them in the league! Warburton recruited very badly, was naïve tactically and a poor motivator. Very few fans in Scotland would say he's been a success at Rangers. Even Platt or Megson could have achieved what he has in Scotland!

Let's hope it's the Brentford Warburton we've recruited and not the Rangers one!

Scottish Old Firm football is a surreal and is not a basis for making any assessment of managerial ability especially given it's now only a one horse race! Warburton has achieved a promotions in 2 very competitive leagues with limited resources.

He has the perfect platform to make it 3

Brenda (I love myself so much if I was chocolate I could eat me) and the rest of the deluded Old Firm entourage are irrelevant in the real football world.

Onwards and upwards.

My preference would have been Billy Davies.
