Matt Mills is a good centre half. He is no Bobby Moore. He himself and section of our supporters would do well to recognise these facts.

where mills is going wrong is when he heads it out he needs to run after it himself because the rest of our team are busy marking the invisible man.

Been saying all along that it won't matter who plays at centre back,we will concede,it's a lack of organisation, especially set pieces
and not down to one individual.
We don't defend as a unit, but the only way to sort that is to decide on a partnership and stick with it for a while, which is what Warburton has done.
It's interesting when mills makes a mistake he gets slaughtered, but when darikwa decided to dribble across his back line, going nowhere and giving the second away, nothing said and yet what he did was far worst.

Maybe, mistakenly, Mills thinks if he heads it out, one of our defensive midfielders will try and pick it up and get our attack going, but then maybe that is just wishful thinking on his or my part. You would also hope that a defensive midfielder might be able to stop crosses coming in by tackling the opponents on the sides, or even tackling runners to support the defence to stop our defence giving away free-kicks round the area, but maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

I'm no massive Matt Mills fan and admit Hobbs/Mancienne is my favoured partnership but I do think he gets hammered for any hint of an error and as FF79 said Darikwa and (dare I say ) Worrall, because he is young after all, have had defensive and positional nightmares costing goals but evade criticism.
Its all good having attacking full backs but surely they must be good defenders first and foremost.

The only thing that let's Mills down,is his positional awareness, tackling, heading, pace, and his strength.😂😂😂

Cant say I am a big Mills fan either but bottom line would seem to be that the mangager is. Seems obvious to me that Hobbs is not going to feature very much for whatever reason be that football, personality , dressing room issues or any other reason.
Therefore I will just have to accept it and get behind him. Ill get pelters here i know but for me it is time to move on from it and let time tell if its been the right choice

We are a team in transition, with nèw manager;new players and anew way of playing.
We need to give it time and let the manager find his best 11,picking on any individual players is not helping that cause.
I'm pleased with what I have seen so far this season and the way we are playing football,on the grass where it belongs.
Yes we are conceding too many, but let Warburton decide what his best defence is and get behind them and encourage them.
Confidence is a massive thing in football and you gain that by results and the fans backing, booing and slagging players off is very detrimental and does nothing to bring about that confidence.
Everyone has an opinion on who they would have in the side, but the only man who decides is the manager and he works with them week in week out.
We have seven very tough matches in 22 days this month,So the squad will be needed and at the end of it we will know a lot more about our team.
So get behind the team and enjoy the ride.

Totally agree with that Ff79. Great to air opinion on here as we all think we know best but come match day trust MW to make the right choices. Patience is key after years of hurt.
