The positives from yesterday were there to see. In the first half some of our one touch football had Wolves chasing shadows.
Bidcutt had his best games in a Forest shirt and looks a bargain.
Carayol proved we have impact players on the bench. His strike for our goal was brilliant.
Joe Worrall still looks to be improving.

Wolves came for a poin, McKay and Ben Brererton suffered from having two players on them whenever they were given the ball.

We lost concentration just after half time and gifted them the all important first goal. That goal enabled Wolves to sit back and slow down even more. Only the wonder strike from Carayol got us back into the game.

Back in the game and encouraged by another big crown we pressed hard for the win. Ben Osborn, who had a really effective game, tried one ambitious pass too many and gave away the ball away which enabled Wolves to break forward and score.

Wolves will be a top 6 side and we more than matched them. They gave our young side a lot of respect and at times it was easy to see why.

We deserved more from the game.

Sections of the crowd need to be a little less vocal when we are not moving the ball forward. Every attack is not going to result in a strike on goal, keeping the ball is still the best way by far of stopping the opposition scoring.

Wolves did two smash and grabs in the one game. A draw would have been a fairer result.

One last point: Dowell is an extremely talented young player, I am really pleased we have him. I just hope we have not signed him in one of those loan deals where we are obliged to play him in every game. Clough and Cummings need games too and will be around at Forest when Dowell returns to Everton a far better player than when he arrived.

For the first time I totally agree with everything you say here.

As most people understand and the new owners stated WE ARE WORK IN PROGRESS.

We were good first half yesterday without a final ball.

The fans need patience. The whole club is in far better hands and a far better place than it was only 6 months ago.

2 sensible posts from a couple of fans with perspective of the bigger picture 👍

Some very astute points Wishey and agree with most of them. MW is still expecting too much from Osborn: he's too lightweight to drop back into DM position and to try and create chances at the same time, and it's not fair on him. On paper Briddy and Bouch looks a better option with Ossy pushing further on to create more. It still feels like we need a couple more additions to make us stronger and give us more tactical options, and with Vaughan and Cohen on one year contracts only, we should expect more incomers in the summer.

Passing the ball and fancy one touch football is one thing but no end result demoralises and saps the confidence. I gaurantee you that the offensive players would relish a different approach with earlier service etc!!!!

I must have watched a different game then because every time we got the ball you could predict the outcome. The formation does not enable us to move the ball quickly. We managed it a couple of times and made good progress. MW has yet to show he can see what everyone else can see and make a positive change to combat the problem. I'm no great Osborn fan but he sees so much of the ball (credit to him for that) that he will always make an error. He receivers it willingly in places where the formation doesn't allow an outlet but leaves vast spaces behind.

Warburton does not seem to have a system where a ball is passed forward that a player from behind runs on to, or when we are passing sideways a player that is slightly back from the play anticipating the pass and running on to it.

Thanks Wishey and others for a great match summary and positive thoughts! Missed yesterday's game am still in the USA but my general comment is let's stay with it we aren't going to go from relegation survivors to champs in a few months and its going to take at least a season to sort out FAH s mess! Plus were a very young squad and we 'll get better. Meanwhile let's stay patient and looking forward to seeing things first hand again at the City Ground a week or so hence. COYR
